Katie Stevens Anticipated Meghann Fahy’s Emmy Nomination (Exclusive)
Katie Stevens was confident that her former The Bold Type costar Meghann Fahy would earn an Emmy nomination for her role in Netflix’s Sirens.
The 32-year-old actress shared with Us Weekly exclusively while promoting her upcoming Hallmark project Providence Falls that she and the other The Bold Type cast members continue to be “such champions” for each other’s careers, even four years after their show concluded.
Stevens recalled telling Meghann after watching Sirens, “I was like, ‘You’re going to be nominated for an Emmy.’ She replied, ‘No, I’m not.’” When the Emmy nominations were announced, Stevens texted her in all caps, saying, “I told you so.”
Fahy, 35, is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her portrayal of Devon DeWitt in Sirens. Previously, she played Sutton Brady-Hunter alongside Stevens, who portrayed Jane Sloan, in Freeform’s The Bold Type, which aired from 2017 to 2021 for five seasons. (Aisha Dee and Melora Hardin were also featured in the cast.)
Stevens mentioned to Us that she, Fahy, and Dee, 31, remain “very much in each other’s lives” even though they are no longer working together on the show.
“The best part of filming is that you walk away with friendships that last forever,” Stevens explained. “The bond we share is incredibly special, and they have been part of so many different phases of my life—from my wedding to having my first child. They’re just the best.”
Stevens often reflects on where her character Jane would be now and understands that fans wish for more from the trio of women.
“In every interview, people bring up The Bold Type, and we’ve all expressed our desire to continue the story somehow,” she shared. “Whether that’s a movie or something else, we’re not sure, but we’d love to work together again.”
Fahy echoed this sentiment in September 2024, telling E! News that she wouldn’t need any persuasion to reprise her role as Sutton.
“I would jump at the chance to do it right now,” she said at the time. “I texted Katie this morning and spoke to Aisha yesterday. They’re my sisters. We’re in this for the long haul.”
