Christie Brinkley and Her Daughter Swiped Right on the Same Men on a Dating App
Christie Brinkley, 71, and her daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook, 27, are quite the duo when it comes to dating.
The supermodel disclosed on the Monday, August 4, episode of Kristin Davis’ “Are You a Charlotte?” podcast that Sailor undertook a dating app experiment to determine “what kind of guys” her mom would attract, with surprising results.
“I’m not on any dating app, but my daughter Sailor is quite the prankster,” Brinkley mentioned.
According to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover star, Sailor “put me up” on a dating app “for, like, an hour or something.”
“She said, ‘Mom, you’re right not to go on it because the same guys that said yes to me are saying yes to you,’” Brinkley told Davis, much to the Sex and the City star’s astonishment.
“Oh, I love this experiment! Smart Sailor,” Davis, 60, exclaimed, calling it a “fascinating little experiment.”
This topic arose as Brinkley and Davis explored a season 2 episode of Sex and the City on Davis’ rewatch podcast, where Samantha Jones (played by Kim Cattrall) goes on a date with an older man.
They discussed how many men in a certain age bracket seem to prefer dating younger women.
“There’s a stark contrast between men and women of the same age,” Davis pointed out on the podcast. “The women look incredible, yet the men of that age don’t seem to want those women.”
Brinkley speculated, “I find that men often seek someone who will be amazed by everything they do. Like, ‘Oh, really? You’re taking me to that restaurant?’”
The supermodel shares Sailor with her fourth husband, Peter Cook. She is also the mother of daughter Alexa Ray Joel, 39, from her second marriage to singer Billy Joel, and son Jack Paris Brinkley-Cook, 30, from her third marriage to Richard Taubman. (Brinkley was previously married to French artist Jean-François Allaux from 1975 to 1981.)
In her recently published memoir, *Uptown Girl*, Brinkley described her marriage to Sailor’s father as “one of the most tormented experiences I’ve ever had.”
The couple was married in 1996 and separated a decade later, with their divorce finalized in 2008.
In her book, Brinkley recalled the moment she discovered Cook’s affair with an 18-year-old, prompted by the teenager’s father confronting her at a graduation ceremony. “When your whole world collapses and you suddenly realize you’re the cliché middle-aged woman whose husband is cheating with a much younger woman, what do you do?” she expressed. (Cook admitted to the affair in a 2008 interview with ABC News.)
