Emily Maynard’s Daughter Ricki Opens Up About Pregnancy Nose Challenges
Emily Maynard’s daughter, Ricki Hendrick, is embarking on an exciting journey into motherhood.
Just under two weeks after revealing her first pregnancy, the 20-year-old offered a peek into her thoughts at this point in her journey.
“At this moment,” she shared through her Instagram Story on Friday, September 5, after researching “how to eliminate pregnancy nose.”
As reported by Healthline, pregnancy nose is a condition some individuals may encounter during pregnancy. It is common for some women to perceive that their nose appears larger or wider than usual, especially at the tip.
This symptom usually appears in the later stages of pregnancy and fades away a few weeks postpartum.
Based on Ricki’s online research, women can alleviate pregnancy nose by staying hydrated, utilizing a humidifier, and trying nasal sprays or strips.
Ricki first shared her pregnancy announcement on August 26, posting a sonogram photo through her Instagram Story while quoting Love Island USA’s Huda Mustafa, saying, “Netflix told me I’m not permitted to discuss it.”
In another post, Ricki included a video showcasing the baby moving.
“My heart is so full, yet my stomach is totally empty because she dislikes all food,” she shared via her Instagram Story. “I’m convinced.”
Fans were introduced to Ricki when her mother competed for Brad Womack’s affection on The Bachelor.
At that time, Emily, now 39, disclosed her previous engagement to Ricky Hendrick, who tragically died in a plane crash in 2004 at just 24 years old. Following his passing, Emily learned she was expecting her first child.
At 19, Emily welcomed her daughter Josephine Riddick Hendrick — affectionately known as Ricki in memory of her late fiancé.
During her time on the ABC reality show in 2011, Emily emphasized to Brad that Ricki was her top priority. Although the couple got engaged at the end of the season, they parted ways later that year. Emily then became the Bachelorette for season 8 and briefly got engaged to Jef Holm.
Though Emily has distanced herself from reality television, she continues to share updates about her family life via social media. (She married Tyler Johnson in 2014, and they have welcomed five more children since.)
“My beautiful girl. I’ll always and forever support you,” Emily previously expressed through Instagram while celebrating Ricki’s 19th birthday. “I love you and am so proud of the person you are. … You’re a gift to the world!”
