Demi Moore Unveils Bangs for the First Time Since Her ‘Striptease’ Era
Demi Moore has returned to her bangs era.
On Monday, October 6, Moore, 62, shared her retro hairstyle on Instagram. In the sultry image, she gazed into the camera, showcasing a wispy fringe. Her long brunette hair flowed down to her hips, with bangs partially parted over her forehead and cut just past her eyebrows. Styled by celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, Moore’s hair was elegantly waved.
The Substance actress paired her new look with a white T-shirt tucked into dark blue skinny jeans and a striking turquoise-beaded choker.
Moore accentuated her haircut by embracing her natural beauty.
The screen icon previously sported bangs while playing Erin Grant in the 1996 film Striptease. At that time, her bangs were trimmed to her brows, and the rest of her hair flowed gracefully down to her waist.
“Bangs — now and then,” Moore captioned the post. “Thank you @gucci for allowing me to bring back the fringe for the first time since my Striptease days!” Her celebrity friends and fans expressed their admiration in the comments.
“My girl 😍,” remarked Keke Palmer, while Giannetos declared, “My dream girl ❤️.” One user enthused, “Your hair is simply AMAZING.” Another gushed, “Obsessed. Looking so 🔥🔥🔥🔥.”
Over the years, Moore has been recognized for her signature long brunette locks, which she discussed with People in April.
“I’ve grown quite attached to my hair,” she shared. “Especially after having dealt with not having any hair,” she added, referring to her role as Lieutenant Jordan O’Neil in the 1997 film G.I. Jane. She also sported a shorter hairstyle while playing Molly in Ghost.
She recounted how she cut her hair—without informing the Ghost director, Jerry Zucker—during a trip to Paris.
“As a first-time mother, I went on a vacation to Paris. I had been carrying a picture of Isabella Rossellini with a stunning short haircut in my wallet for years, just waiting for the chance,” she recalled. “I don’t know if it was hormonal after pregnancy, but I walked into a salon in Paris, speaking no French, and showed the stylist the picture, asking, ‘Can I have this?’”
She admitted she didn’t want to shock the cast with her pixie cut intentionally, but they eventually “came around to see [the vision].”
“I think I just really needed a change,” she added. (Moore shares daughters Rumer, 37, Scout, 34, and Tallulah, 31, with ex-husband Bruce Willis.)
She also expressed to People that one day she’ll consider embracing her gray strands.
“Oh, 100 percent. I admire women who have stunning gray hair, especially when it’s long. I think it’s breathtaking,” she praised. “I would absolutely do it. I just don’t have enough to make it look interesting. Mine is more of a scattered look that makes my hair appear murky. I didn’t start coloring my hair until I was around 55.”
