Brooke Shields Reveals Gray Roots After Being Teased by Her Daughter
Brooke Shields embodies natural beauty.
On Monday, August 10, Shields, 61, took to TikTok to unveil an adorable new addition to her family, her pup named Shippy. In the snapshot, she radiated confidence with a makeup-free look, parting her hair in the middle and showcasing her bouncy hairstyle featuring salt-and-pepper roots.
“World, meet Shippy 🐶🥹,” she wrote alongside the delightful picture. “She is perfect and we are obsessed with her!!”
This fresh-faced selfie comes on the heels of Shields going viral for her playful banter with her daughter Grier. While engaging in a TikTok trend about responding to bullies, Grier, 20, playfully teased her mom. (Shields shares daughters Grier and Rowan, 23, with her husband Chris Henchy.)
“You have a lot of gray hairs,” Grier commented cheekily, to which Shields responded, “It’s a sign of maturity.” Grier then continued to jest about Shields’ numerous forehead “wrinkles.”

Shields rebutted the comment, saying, “That’s because I’m concerned about the world, which is populated by people like you.” Grier hilariously gasped at her mother’s quick-witted retort.
“Ooh! Burn!” she exclaimed, while Shields burst into laughter.
Shields has openly discussed her perspective on aging over the years. In January 2025, she shared with Real Simple that embracing natural aging is a “positive” development.
“If we truly discuss older ages in their entirety, then fantastic,” she explained. “But to label me as ‘aged’ at 59 doesn’t sit well with me. I hope the trend shifts toward wanting to feel and look our best, rather than pursuing something unrealistic and unattainable.”
She continued, “My daughters see all the comments on my social media, and one of them found it funny when someone remarked, ‘Oh, it’s so nice to see that she hasn’t had any work done and is just aging naturally.’ I would be lying if I said it didn’t bother me. … I’m not certain I want to act on it, but I wouldn’t mind it being a little better. We all get caught up in it.”
