Lindsay Arnold Discusses Possibility of Returning to DWTS
Former Dancing With the Stars pro Lindsay Arnold is keeping the door open for a possible return to the ballroom, though season 35 may not be the right moment for her.
“I’ve always said that I will literally never say never because I love the show. There are so many aspects of it that I miss,” Lindsay, 32, exclusively told Us while discussing her collaboration with Stitch Fix. “Ideally, I could participate in the show while also juggling my other commitments, taking my kids to their activities, and being present at home. … But right now, I am absolutely loving and embracing this chapter of our lives.”
Lindsay mentioned that her children, whom she shares with husband Sam Cusick, will be starting school soon, and she wants to focus on their lives in Utah instead of balancing dancing, parenthood, and the responsibilities that come with DWTS in Los Angeles. (The couple has daughters Sage, 5, June, 3, and son Hayes, 2 months.)
“My girls are involved in so many activities, and I cherish being there for all of it. I love being completely present and just embracing this stage of life,” Lindsay shared. “I feel really grateful for the years I spent on the show and for that phase of my life.”
Lindsay’s younger sister, Rylee Arnold, previously told Us that Lindsay is likely declining DWTS for now because she feels “well-established in her life.” When asked about Rylee’s insight, Lindsay concurred, stating she’s enjoying this chapter.
“I believe I’m involved in several fulfilling ventures that provide me a creative outlet and help me feel like I’m building something for myself. So, yes, what she said is spot on,” Lindsay noted. “But again, never say never because my love for the show is immense, and getting to participate in [DWTS] Con was a wonderful reminder of that passion. For now, though, I truly love where we’re at and being present with my family while engaging in our various activities.”
Although she may not be putting on her dancing shoes at this moment, Lindsay is keeping busy with her partnership with Stitch Fix and challenging the societal pressure to “bounce back” post-birth.
“As a mom of three, I’m not taking on anything unless it will make my life easier because it’s quite hectic,” she expressed. “I live by the principle of embracing every stage of life I am in. It’s easy in our culture to feel like we must bounce back and always remain in a pristine phase of life.”
Lindsay shared that she is “truly embracing everything about postpartum,” including the changes to her body, fitness level, and the clothing in which she feels comfortable.
“If you’ve been pregnant or gone through postpartum, you know your body is always changing, and it can be tough to feel confident,” she explained. “The clothes that fit you at one point may not fit you anymore. I love how Stitch Fix helps you embrace that. They’re not pushing you to fit into clothes that may have suited you before having a baby or during pregnancy. They’re assisting you in discovering a new sense of style for this new phase in your life, which has truly saved me so much time.”
