Heated Rivalry Creator Requests ‘Space’ During Season 2 Filming
Heated Rivalry creator Jacob Tierney addressed fans who may encounter the cast and crew while filming season 2.
“To our amazing fans and everyone sharing in the excitement of the show: Your support, enthusiasm, and kindness have truly meant everything to us,” Tierney, 46, stated in a message released on Tuesday, August 4, through his production company, Accent Aigu Entertainment, and the official Heated Rivalry Instagram accounts. “As we prepare for more Heated Rivalry, we hope you will assist us in making it the best it can be.”
The message continued: “If you happen to stumble upon one of our filming locations, please give our cast and crew the space they need to excel in their craft. We promise it’ll be worth the wait!”
The note was signed by the “Heated Rivalry Family.”
Fans have echoed their agreement in the comments section.

Heated Rivalry exploded in popularity in November 2025 when Tierney, who directed, created, and wrote the series, introduced us to fictional hockey players Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, portrayed by Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, respectively. This romance series, based on author Rachel Reid‘s Game Changer series, tells the story of rival hockey players turned lovers.
The series quickly became a hit, turning Williams and Storrie into overnight stars, leading to an immediate renewal for Heated Rivalry.
Filming for Heated Rivalry season 2 has just begun in Toronto, with Storrie and Williams spotted around the city. Photos of the duo have been shared widely on social media.
The second season will adapt Reid’s fifth and sixth books in the series, Role Model and The Long Game. Further details, including information about any new cast members, have not yet been disclosed.
“Long Game is … quite extensive and game-oriented, akin to eating venison,” Tierney humorously commented during an April appearance at BookCon 2026 in New York City, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. “It’s truly different … and the challenge from an adaptation perspective is that you’re diving into much more serious territory. There’s still plenty of flirting and romance, but this kind of ‘hotel room, adolescent romance’ vibe is mostly gone.”
Heated Rivalry season 2 is set to premiere in spring 2027 on Crave in Canada and HBO Max in the United States and other international locations.
