Bunnie Xo Shares Update on Her Journey to Parenthood with Jelly Roll

Bunnie Xo has provided an update regarding her and her husband Jelly Roll‘s aspirations to add another child to their family.

During the Sunday, November 2 episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast, Bunnie Xo, 45, spoke with Maury Povich, who shared his own experiences with his wife Connie Chung when they tried to conceive years ago.

“We faced the same challenges you and Jelly Roll are facing,” Povich recalled. “We attempted to get pregnant over 30 years ago. Connie even had to take time off from CBS, and it became quite the news story.”

Povich revealed that he and Chung chose adoption because they “couldn’t make it happen,” calling it “the best decision.” He concluded that he empathizes with Bunnie Xo (whose real name is Alyssa DeFord) and Jelly Roll, 40, acknowledging the difficulty of their journey.

During the Tuesday, July 2 episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast, Bunnie, 44, announced that the couple is currently undergoing in vitro fertilization with a surrogate. “This journey with IVF, we sat down a […]

“It’s challenging, but ultimately, I believe it’s in God’s hands. If it’s meant to be, it will be. If not, we can always consider adoption,” Bunnie Xo expressed. “I’m completely open to adoption as well, and so is my husband.”

Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll (real name Jason Bradley DeFord) got married in 2016. Bunnie became a stepmother to the country singer’s two children: daughter Bailee, 17, and son Noah, 8, from previous relationships.

In 2024, Jelly Roll announced their plans to grow their family through in vitro fertilization during his appearance on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast.

“We intended to keep this private, but we decided to share our IVF journey because we’ve always been candid,” Bunnie mentioned on Instagram following his announcement. “With all the challenges ahead, it has already been tough, and we’ve only just begun. We’ve been consulting with IVF specialists and exploring options to add to our family.”

Many celebrity marriages have weathered allegations of infidelity over the years. Former Vanderpump Rules stars Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor navigated Taylor’s cheating scandal — he was caught with former costar Faith Stowers during season 6 — before tying the knot in June 2019. “I see him every single day making efforts and […]

Later that year, Bunnie Xo discussed their IVF efforts with a surrogate.

“This IVF journey began a few months back,” she shared during an episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast. “I realized I’ve achieved so much in my life, but the only thing left is to raise a baby and garden. I’m in my baby mama (and) gardening phase now.”

She went on, “J was like … ‘I would love to have a baby with you.’ That wasn’t the reaction I anticipated. I was taken aback and asked, ‘Really? Have you always felt that way?’ He replied, ‘Absolutely, I want to have a baby with you. If you decide to have one, great. If you don’t, that’s fine too. It’s up to you.’ Now he’s genuinely excited about it.”

Bunnie Xo revealed they have consulted with a fertility specialist since 2019 but felt they weren’t ready until now.

“We’re considering the possibility of having twins,” Bunnie Xo mentioned. “We think we might want two boys. But we’re not set on anything yet. We plan to wait to implant until February 2025.”
