Jessica Duarte Shares Heartfelt Tribute Following Michael’s Passing

Michael Duarte’s spouse, Jessica, shared an emotional message following her husband’s passing.

Jessica acknowledged her struggle with “what to do” in the aftermath of Michael’s death, also known as Food With Bear Hands, in a heartfelt post shared through his Instagram account on Thursday, November 13.

“I am deeply touched and proud to know so many individuals he inspired during his time here. I intend to honor his legacy not just for him but for his family,” Jessica expressed. “He gave everything of himself, and now it’s time for me to give back. I’m uncertain what that looks like yet, but I hope he guides me on that journey.”

She added, “Thank you to everyone who has reached out. The flood of love has truly empowered me. I can feel him moving mountains❤️. A heartfelt thank you to my tribe and Mike’s BBQ community for standing strong with me.”

Jessica conveyed that she is still mourning Michael’s loss, who passed away on November 8, just three days after they celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary. (They share a 6-year-old daughter, Oakley.)

“I’m still grappling with the reality of him being gone, but I’m beginning to understand that his purpose was SO much greater. I’m witnessing God work in mysterious ways that I’ve never experienced before, and I hope that brings our family some comfort,” she continued.

Jessica also noted that funeral arrangements are still being finalized and urged people not to spread misinformation regarding Michael’s death.

She wrapped up her message with, “Mike, I’m honored to be your wife, and I will cherish that title for the rest of my life. Until we meet again, Daddy ❤️.”

Previously, Jessica shared a touching tribute to her late husband on Instagram on Sunday, November 9, following the tragic news.

“It’s been 24 hours since my world collapsed. I’m numb, angry, and devastated. Words cannot capture this level of pain. I never thought I’d be writing this,” she reflected. “To the world, you were foodwithbearhands, but to us, you were a devoted husband and father. You didn’t deserve this. I will love you always and will stay strong for our daughter, knowing how much you cared for us. Please take a moment to pray for our family. To my husband, I will miss you…until we reunite 💔.”

Duarte’s talent agency, Alooma Media Group, released a statement regarding Michael’s passing through Instagram on the same day.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our cherished client and friend, Michael Duarte,” the agency stated. “Michael was so much more than a client to us at Alooma; he was a true and loyal partner, a trusted collaborator, and above all, an incredible person.
