Jinger Duggar’s Husband Surprises Her with an Upgraded Wedding Ring for Christmas
Jinger Duggar’s spouse, Jeremy Vuolo, executed an incredible Christmas surprise.
“[Jeremy] surprised me with a new and improved wedding band,” Duggar, 32, shared through her Instagram Stories on Sunday, December 28. “Naturally, he had @austin4site officiate [a mock] ceremony and included the kids in the wedding party to present it to me.”
Duggar and Vuolo, 38, have been married since 2016, celebrating their ninth anniversary last month.
“From newlyweds to a family of five — still so in love with this life with you,” Duggar expressed via Instagram on November 5. “I love you, jj.”
For Christmas, Vuolo orchestrated a fake wedding to present Duggar with her new ring. The Counting On alum’s brother-in-law Austin Forsyth, married to Joy-Anna Duggar, played the officiant while the kids from both families acted as flower girls and ring bearers.
Jinger and Vuolo are parents to Felicity, 7, Evangeline, 5, and Finn, who was born in March. Joy-Anna, 28, and Forsyth, 32, also have three children together.
“ILY @jeremy_vuolo 😘,” Jinger finished her post on Sunday.
Jinger and Vuolo celebrated the holidays with her family in Arkansas for the first time in nine years.
“The reason we haven’t returned for Christmas Day is that it’s the only time of year when [Jeremy’s] family is all together,” Jinger, who resides in California with her husband, remarked on her podcast earlier this month. “Over the years, we’ve decided, ‘Okay, that’s the time we will spend with the Vuolo family for Christmas.’”
She added, “My family is always together often, so it’s easy for us to visit. We [recently] went back three times in one year for weddings.”
After so many years away for the holidays, Jinger admitted feeling “nostalgic” about her childhood.
“I want our girls to experience a Duggar family Christmas because I miss it,” she explained. “We’ve celebrated in various ways. Back when I lived at the Big House, there were years we’d say, ‘Everyone has to wait; we go down together, and then it’s a free-for-all as everyone opens gifts.’ Some years, I remember each person would open one at a time, either starting with the oldest or the youngest.”
This year, the Duggars each brought a gift for one specific person.
“All the older girls are in a drawing, and all the guys too — in-laws included,” she teased at the time. “All the little nieces and nephews have a drawing as well. [Everyone] is buying one gift, or a designated amount, for each other.”
Jinger and Vuolo began courting in 2015, adhering to her family’s tradition.
“Jer came into my life, and my initial hesitation was due to him being from outside my world,” Jinger exclusively told Us Weekly in January 2023 about meeting her now-husband. “That can be a daunting prospect when you’re within that [IBLP] culture.”
Jinger, who has since distanced herself from her family’s strict and conservative beliefs, felt completely comfortable with Vuolo from their very first date.
“I felt such confidence, though,” she reminisced. “I remember coming back from a date and telling my mom, ‘I feel so safe with him. He is everything I’ve ever wanted.’”
