Emily Maynard’s Husband Adores Ricki Hendrick’s Little One
Tyler Johnson, husband of Emily Maynard, is expressing his joy over the newest member of their family.
On Instagram this past Friday, January 23, Johnson shared a series of photos featuring Maynard’s daughter, Ricki Hendrick, 20, and her newborn.
“Today we became grandparents!! Words can’t capture this feeling 🤍🤍🤍. This is true love,” Johnson, 39, wrote in the caption.
The post included images of Johnson and Maynard, 39, with their new granddaughter, as well as several shots of Hendrick in the hospital, featuring Carter Dyer, who is presumed to be the baby’s father (Hendrick has not publicly revealed his identity).
Additional photos show Hendrick’s family members visiting the newborn in the hospital shortly after her arrival.
In the comments of Johnson’s post, Hendrick replied, “Love you so much❤️❤️❤️”
Johnson also shared a photo of the baby on his Instagram Story, expressing, “What a day. No words. Just pure love for my baby and her baby.”
Earlier on Friday, Hendrick announced the birth of her first child via Instagram, sharing, “Best day ever,” accompanied by a photo of her doctor presenting the newborn shortly post-delivery.
In August 2025, Hendrick shared the exciting news of her pregnancy by posting an ultrasound image on her Instagram Story alongside a quote from Love Island USA’s Huda Mustafa: “Netflix told me I’m not allowed to talk about it.” She later confirmed she was expecting a girl.
In September 2025, Henderson also revealed her mother’s reaction to her pregnancy news.
When a follower inquired about her mother’s thoughts on having a child “outside of marriage,” Maynard humorously appeared in a video with Hendrick, stating: “I can’t believe anyone would do that. Such a shame.”
Soon after, Hendrick shared another video on her Instagram Story humorously commenting on her mother’s response to the pregnancy news.
“My mom is genuinely devastated, she’s really upset,” Hendrick quipped while showing various baby items Maynard had purchased, including a crib and a book on grandmothers.
“She’s definitely not excited about me having a baby. She’s actually quite angry. She can’t even look at me. No support at all. Very angry,” Hendrick continued jokingly.
The new mother is the only child of Maynard and her late fiancé, Ricky Hendrick, a NASCAR driver who tragically lost his life in a plane crash in 2004 at just 24 years old, while Maynard, then 19, was expecting Ricki.
Following her time on The Bachelor in 2011 and The Bachelorette in 2012, Maynard faced unsuccessful searches for enduring love with her suitors, ultimately marrying Johnson in 2014.
Maynard and Johnson have welcomed five children into their family: Jennings, Gibson, Gatlin, Magnolia, and Jones in the years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020, and 2022, respectively.
The Bachelorette alum showed her love for Johnson in a heartfelt tribute shared on Instagram in April 2025.
“My love. Tyler, you are the greatest blessing in my life and I am so thankful to call you mine,” Maynard expressed at the time. “You are the best—best dad, best husband, best human. We’ve journeyed through so much together, and I can’t wait to see what else God has planned for our family. I love you!”
