Josh Allen Suggests Fatherhood is More ‘Significant’ Than Football
Josh Allen is eagerly anticipating the arrival of the newest addition to Bills Mafia.
“I have siblings with children and many friends who are parents. It’s tough to plan too far ahead,” Allen, 29, shared during a press conference on Thursday, January 29, when asked about balancing his football career with fatherhood. “I’m really looking forward to this experience with my wife.”
The quarterback of the Buffalo Bills married actress Hailee Steinfeld in May 2025, revealing in December 2025 that they are expecting their first child.
“Becoming a dad is something I will cherish deeply,” Allen told reporters on Thursday. “We’ll learn to navigate this just like we do with everything else. This is going to be the most significant role in my life — being a dad.”
He added, “I know I love my job as a football player and serving as quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but this is something I’m really looking forward to.”
Steinfeld first shared news of her pregnancy in a special edition of her “Beau Society” newsletter to celebrate her 29th birthday.
“Entering my 29th year, I want to acknowledge some of my notable moments from the past year, whether grand or subtle,” she noted, listing her gratitudes.
The 29th item on her list was “this video,” referencing footage of Allen kissing her bare baby bump in the snow. Shortly after, Allen commented publicly on his wife’s announcement.
“I’ve known for a while, so it’s not that surprising to me,” he humorously told reporters last month. “But the love I’ve received from teammates and friends has been incredibly special in both my life and my wife’s life.”
Steinfeld brought her “new plus one” to the 2026 Golden Globes, showcasing her bump on the red carpet, while Allen had a Bills playoff game that same day.
“On the day of the Globes, something thrilling was airing on TV that I’m sure you were all watching. Kickoff coincided perfectly with glam time,” Steinfeld noted in a January 16 newsletter. “I was a bit (okay, a lot) distracted.”
She added, “My glam team is fabulous at what they do and adapted to my constant movement. Andrew [Fitzsimons], my hairstylist, made sure to warn me whenever an iron was near my face, so I wouldn’t accidentally burn myself.”
With Allen occupied, Steinfeld brought her mother to the Golden Globes, where she had a presenting role.
“I had the chance to wear a stunning Prada dress and spend a wonderful evening with my new plus one while reconnecting with friends I hadn’t seen in a long time,” the Sinners actress expressed, describing her gown as the “perfect” choice for the event. “The fabric gracefully draped over my bump, and I loved the peach-pink hue with the intricate beading that made it look almost liquid.”
She continued, “It felt like the perfect blend of femininity, elegance, and a touch of whimsy. Amazingly, it needed no adjustments except to lengthen the slip a few inches. And it’s Prada — a no-brainer.”
Allen later expressed his approval of Steinfeld’s maternity look, sharing red carpet photos on social media with a drooling emoji.
