Snoop Dogg’s Daughter Cori Broadus Mourns the Loss of Baby Codi
Snoop Dogg’s daughter, Cori Broadus, and her fiancé, Wayne Duece, are grieving the loss of their infant, Codi Dreaux.
“We will love you always, baby girl,” Duece, 33, posted on Instagram Stories on Saturday, February 7, sharing images from the memorial service. “LongLiveCodiDreaux.”
Both Broadus, 26, and Duece wore brown suits for the solemn occasion, with touches of pink in honor of their daughter. They arrived at the cemetery in a pink vehicle that said, “The princess has arrived in heaven” in elegant gold lettering on the hood.
“Fly high, Codi Dreaux,” Duece added in a subsequent post, sharing that doves were released at the conclusion of the service. “We love you, babygirl.”
Cori, the daughter of Snoop Dogg and his wife, Shante Broadus, gave birth prematurely to Codi in February 2025.
“That girl is so feisty. She’s incredibly resilient and strong,” Cori told Us Weekly in September 2025 regarding her daughter’s NICU experience. “She’s full of character. The doctors and nurses would often say, ‘Your baby has a strong mind. She’s smart and alert. She knows what’s happening. She can hear and see. Yes, the circumstances aren’t ideal, but they could be worse.’ That girl is just a sweet little firecracker.”
She added, “The NICU experience is unique—something you must experience to understand. It’s not easy, but the support is incredible. Sometimes I enter [the NICU] and can’t stop crying, and I apologize. They reassure me, ‘Why are you apologizing? This is normal. If you weren’t crying, we’d be concerned, so just stay close and keep hope alive.’”
Codi was released from the NICU after six months on January 6, just weeks before her unexpected passing.
“On Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” Cori posted on Instagram on January 31. “Twenty days later? Dawg, I’m heartbroken.”
Duece also shared a message following their daughter’s passing.
“I have been the saddest since you left me, Codi Dreaux,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories that day. “But I know you are at peace. Daddy will always love you. My baby. #LongLiveCodiDreaux.”
Cori and Duece, who have been together since 2018, have received support from her well-known family and their loved ones during this challenging time.
“My BerriBo, my Codi Bear. You came to me in dreams to let me know you’re okay,” Cori’s baby nurse wrote in a heartfelt tribute late last night. “I love you, babygirl. I’ve been sad for six days now. Being a nurse has its ups and downs, and this is the toughest moment I’ve faced. It was a joy to care for my babygirl. I gave her one last bath, told her I loved her, and didn’t even realize I was preparing her for Heaven.”
Cori’s brother, Cordell Broadus, also extended his condolences, telling his sister in an Instagram message, “Lil sis, we’re here for you always.”
