Influencer Kelly Stranick Opens Up About Her Miscarriage Experience
Influencer Kelly Stranick opened up to her followers about facing a challenging moment.
“This is unfortunately not a pregnancy announcement,” Kelly, 30, shared via Instagram on Tuesday, February 3, along with a photo of herself and husband Andy Stranick embracing while holding a pregnancy test. “Last weekend, I experienced a miscarriage. I’m not sure why this feels so awkward and embarrassing to discuss because, as you know, I’m pretty open about what I share, but for some reason, that’s just how it feels.”
Kelly continued by expressing that she felt “naive” for believing she would “have a baby in September” and for sharing her news with friends and family “so early.”
“I always said, ‘Well, I’ll just tell whoever I would inform if I miscarried,’ but I completely underestimated the awkwardness of letting those people know ‘hey, just kidding, I’m not pregnant anymore, disregard,’” she remarked.
Kelly expressed gratitude for Andy and her supportive friends and family who check in without expecting a response and aren’t looking for her to be over it immediately.
She mentioned feeling “nervous” about sharing her story, noting how isolating the experience felt. “When it happened, I immediately thought of a few courageous women who had shared their experiences before, and it made me feel less alone and less insane,” she wrote. “I know I will be okay. I know we will be okay. I believe we will become parents when the time is right, or whatever they say.”
The TikTok star received an outpouring of support in the comments from celebrity friends and family.
“Love you deeply,” Summer House star Amanda Batula commented, while influencer Eli Rallo added, “Love you so, so much ❤️.” Lexi Hidalgo also chimed in with heart emojis.
Previously, Kelly opened up about marrying Andy in 2023, revealing to The Knot that they met on Hinge, making him the first man she dated from the app.
In 2022, they took a trip to Newport, Rhode Island, where Andy proposed with a ring while down on one knee.
“Our families were hidden inside while Andy proposed at the lighthouse out back,” she reminisced. “I was completely surprised, which is why I was wearing Converse, leggings, and no makeup. I knew it was coming eventually, but I certainly didn’t expect it that weekend.”
For her September 2023 wedding, Kelly dazzled in a lace-embellished gown featuring a corset top and detachable long sleeves, complemented by a fitted skirt.
She accessorized her dress with sapphire earrings and opted for a soft glam look, including filled-in brows, dewy foundation, pink lips, and long lashes. Her brunette hair was styled in soft curls, parted in the middle. Meanwhile, Andy looked sharp in a black suit and bowtie.
