Scott Hamilton’s Family: Meet His Wife and Four Children

Scott Hamilton has epitomized the role of a devoted father since his retirement from figure skating in 1984.

Scott and his wife, Tracie Hamilton, are proud parents of four children. After marrying in 2002, they welcomed their sons, Aidan and Maxx. Six years later, they expanded their family by adopting siblings Jean Paul and Evelyne from Haiti.

While building his family, Scott faced a health scare when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Following surgery and treatment, he went into remission in 1997. However, he was later diagnosed with brain cancer in 2004 and again in 2010, which led to another surgery. A third tumor was identified in 2016, but Scott chose to forgo additional surgery.

In a November 2025 interview with People, Scott expressed his outlook on health: “Life is great. I’m living fully, living healthy, living without restriction.”

Currently, Scott serves as a figure skating analyst for the 2026 Olympics in Italy.

Tracie Hamilton

Scott has been happily married to Tracie since 2002. They reside in Nashville with their four children.

Aidan Hamilton

Their first son, Aidan, was born in September 2003.

Maxx Hamilton

Aidan became a big brother for the first time when Maxx joined the family in January 2008.

Jean Paul Hamilton

Tracie first met Jean Paul while volunteering in Haiti, and two years later, she and Scott adopted him.

Evelyne Hamilton

In 2014, Scott and Tracie also adopted Jean Paul’s younger sister.

“It’s been so much fun having a girl, and she brings so much joy,” Tracie shared with Today at that time. “The experience has been beautiful, challenging, amazing, hard, and a tremendous blessing, living up to all we hoped it would be.”

Dorothy and Ernest Hamilton

Scott was adopted at six weeks old. Dorothy passed away in 1977 after a battle with breast cancer, which inspired Scott’s 2020 children’s book, Fritzy Finds a Hat. Ernest died in 2015 from a heart attack.
