Candace Cameron Bure Shocked Kids with Candid Sex Talks (Exclusive)
Candace Cameron Bure openly discussed having “the birds and the bees” conversation with her children.
“I maintained very candid discussions about sex with my kids as they grew older,” Cameron Bure, 49, revealed in an exclusive clip from Us Weekly for this week’s episode of “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast,” which is set to premiere on Tuesday, February 10.
Cameron Bure humorously stated that she often “grossed them out” during these talks.
“They were stuck in the car, and I’m like, ‘Guess what we’re discussing today?!’” she joked. “There was no escape.”
The Full House star continued, “I genuinely enjoyed these conversations because I wanted my kids to feel safe.”
Cameron Bure acknowledged that while she wasn’t entirely “comfortable” discussing sex with her kids, she aspired to create a secure environment for them.
“I aimed to make it as enjoyable as possible and approached the topic with ease, eliminating any embarrassment or shame from the dialogue,” she explained. “I believe that shame can begin easily if we aren’t educated about our bodies, how they function, their purpose, and how God perceives them.”
She concluded, “Misunderstandings in this area can significantly shape our perceptions of shame and how we feel.”
Cameron Bure shares her kids Natasha, 27, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 24, with her husband Valeri Bure. Two of her kids are married but have not yet started families of their own. (Lev tied the knot with Elliot Dunham in January 2024, while Natasha married Bradley Steven Perry in September 2025.)
Cameron Bure revealed to Us exclusively late last year that she played a significant role in her daughter’s wedding.
“She didn’t hire a wedding coordinator, so I was the person she turned to for ideas,” the actress shared excitedly. “It was an absolute delight for me!”
Throughout her public journey, Cameron Bure has been open about her children’s love lives. She discussed their relationships during a 2019 interview with Us.
“I feel really good about their dating choices because they have a solid sense of judgment,” she stated back then. “They’re seeking quality people to be with, looking for partners, and I’m proud of that.”
At that point, Natasha had not yet brought anyone home, which has since changed. The actress jokingly added, “I do wish they would date more sometimes. That sounds strange!”
During the same interview, Cameron Bure expressed her deep bond with her children.
“My kids are young adults and teenagers and I’m regarded positively in their eyes,” she remarked. “They enjoy spending time with me. I may not care about being cool to them, but the fact that they genuinely want to hang out and see me as a friend is the greatest victory for me ever.”
