Since the end of last month, Taylor has maintained a low profile following ABC’s cancellation of her upcoming season of The Bachelorette.

“We have made the decision to not proceed with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time,” stated a spokesperson for Disney Entertainment Television to Us Weekly. “Our priority is to support the family.”

ABC indicated that the decision was based on “the newly released video [that] just surfaced,” which showed Taylor physically assaulting her now-ex Mortensen, 33, in front of her daughter shortly before her arrest in February 2023, following a physical altercation. She ultimately pled guilty to aggravated assault as part of a plea agreement to drop the remaining charges concerning child abuse.

Taylor and Mortensen are also involved in two ongoing domestic violence investigations, linked to separate alleged incidents in 2024 and February 2026, respectively.

The star of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, who is on probation until August, later issued a statement following the cancellation of The Bachelorette.

“Taylor is very thankful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes the safety and security of her family,” her representative stated to Us last month. “After enduring years of silent suffering from significant mental and physical abuse, along with threats of retaliation, Taylor is now gaining the courage to confront her accuser and taking necessary steps to protect herself and her children.”

As for Mortensen, he has publicly refuted any allegations against him and was granted a temporary protective order against Taylor, which also temporarily awarded him sole custody of Ever until a court hearing later this month.
