Whitney Port Shares Honest Update Ahead of Embryo Transfer
Whitney Port is a blend of hope and realism as she approaches her upcoming embryo transfer.
“I’m hoping we’re on the brink of our next transfer,” Port, 41, shared through her Instagram Stories on Friday, September 18, in response to a follower inquiring about her fertility journey. “After everything we’ve faced with infertility and surrogacy, I’ve decided that I want to attempt carrying again.”
Port and her spouse, Tim Rosenman, welcomed their son Sonny in 2017. Since then, the The Hills alum experienced several pregnancy losses while trying to grow their family. Grappling with secondary infertility, Port and Rosenman, 45, disclosed in 2023 that they were considering surrogacy. After experiencing miscarriages with two gestational carriers, Port declared in July her desire to try carrying a pregnancy herself once more.
“We have two embryos remaining, and if all goes well, I’m aiming to transfer one in the upcoming months,” she shared on Friday. “Getting my hernia repaired was actually part of my preparation for this. My doctors advised me to take care of it beforehand, so I wouldn’t have to handle it during a pregnancy.”
Port expresses cautious optimism as she progresses with her plans.
“I’m excited, but I’m also trying to manage my expectations carefully,” she reflected on Friday. “After so many years of infertility and loss, I find it difficult to approach this journey with uncomplicated optimism.”
She elaborated, “I can feel hope and fear simultaneously, and that’s essentially my current state.”
Port has been open about the emotional toll her infertility struggles have taken.
“I think for me, [the hardest part is] really watching Timmy’s heartbreak,” she exclusively told Us in March. “It’s one thing to cope with my own feelings; I’ve learned how to manage that. But seeing my partner, whom I care for deeply, struggle—there are no words for that. He’s my rock, someone I rely on, and watching him hurt is truly heartbreaking for me.”
Regarding her journey, Port described her emotions as coming in “waves.”
“Honestly, what I’ve learned over these past seven years is quite simple: it’s essential to embrace my reality, and if this is what it is, I should be grateful for it,” she expressed at the time. “I know it sounds cliché, but focusing on gratitude has brought me a sense of peace with whatever the outcome may be. We still have two embryos left, so I’m trying to keep my hopes high.”
