Teen Mom Jenelle Evans Gives Honest Update on Son Jace
Teen Mom alum Jenelle Evans reassures fans that her 16-year-old son Jace is in capable hands.
“I have something to share that I haven’t revealed before,” Evans, 34, mentioned on the Monday, April 13, episode of the “La Femme Talk” podcast. “As you know, I’ve been pretty quiet online, but behind the scenes, I’ve been actively seeking help for my son, and he’s currently in a safe, holistic environment.”
Evans — who has Jace with ex Andrew Lewis, Kaiser, 11, with ex Nathan Griffith, and Ensley, 9, with David Eason — further stated that her eldest child is “very happy right now” and “focused on his personal growth.”
“That’s the most crucial aspect,” she told podcast host Dr. Rachel Mason. “Many people assume that my silence means I’m inactive, but if I’m quiet, it means I’m working on something important.”
Recently, it was reported that Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans, sought emergency custody of Jace following an incident in February where he allegedly threatened relatives with a gun. (At the time, Jace was living with Barbara in North Carolina, while Jenelle resides in Las Vegas with her younger children.)
Though Barbara’s request was ultimately rejected, Lewis initiated a GoFundMe campaign to cover “medical and legal” expenses for Jace.
“We — Jace’s father and grandmother — are doing everything possible to bring him back to his grandma’s house, but we are currently facing significant medical and legal costs,” Lewis stated on the crowdfunding page. “In the past month, many who care for Jace have reached out to express their willingness to help, prompting us to create this fundraiser. Any remaining funds will be allocated for his future medical needs.”
In response to the GoFundMe, Jenelle issued a statement to Us Weekly, labeling the page a “scam.”
“My son has comprehensive health insurance, and I am personally managing and covering all his medical expenses,” she stated. “This is a scam targeting those who have donated.”
As Jenelle continues to raise her three children, the former 16 and Pregnant star is not shy about responding to critics and doubters who think they have insight into her family dynamics.
When a social media user critiqued her actions, the former MTV reality star hit back.
“My business is not your concern, and you don’t know what is best for my son or my family,” she commented via X on April 7. “Bye, stranger.”
