Before her rise to fame and chart-topping success, Rodrigo was romantically involved with her Disney Channel co-star. Their friendship began on the set of Bizaardvark, which debuted in 2016. By January 2019, they announced in a now-deleted Instagram post that they’d been dating for six months.

Later that year, it seemed they parted ways after removing each other’s pictures from their social media accounts. Nonetheless, they have maintained a close friendship. As Wacker transitioned to college in 2020, Rodrigo took to her Instagram Story to wish him well.

When Rodrigo released her smash hit “Drivers License” in early 2021, Wacker addressed the speculation that the song referred to him. He dismissed the rumors in a now-deleted TikTok response stating, “I treated her well.”

Joshua Bassett

After her stint on Bizaardvark, Rodrigo snagged a leading role in the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, where she starred opposite Bassett. Although the pair never publicly confirmed they were dating, fans have speculated that Rodrigo penned “Drivers License” about Bassett — particularly regarding his alleged relationship with Sabrina Carpenter.

This rumored love triangle inspired several songs from all three artists that seemed to reference their experiences. In June 2021, Bassett commented on the situation.

“The reality is it’s kind of a lost cause trying to discuss any of that stuff, and I refuse to indulge in the nonsense, so I just don’t,” he remarked in an interview with GQ. “[Everyone] is asking about Sabrina and Olivia. Why don’t we focus on these women for who they are? Let’s celebrate their artistry instead of their connections to a guy.”

Six months later, Bassett told the outlet that he and Rodrigo hadn’t spoken since “Drivers License” dropped earlier that year, and he unfollowed her on Instagram the following month.

Adam Faze

Amidst the drama with Carpenter and Bassett, Rodrigo began dating Faze in June 2021 after being seen getting cozy at the Space Jam 2 premiere. They were later spotted sharing affectionate moments the following month. Although Faze and Rodrigo kept their relationship low-key thereafter, Us Weekly confirmed their breakup in February 2022 after a year of dating.

Zack Bia

Rodrigo was seen with Bia at a Super Bowl party in February 2022, shortly before Us verified her split from Faze. Two months later, they were spotted together again on a lunch date in New York City. An insider informed Us in August 2022 that the Grammy winner and DJ had been “casually dating,” but the “relationship sort of fizzled” out.

Louis Partridge

Rodrigo ignited romance speculations with the Enola Holmes actor in October 2023 when they were seen embracing in London, as captured in fan videos shared on X (formerly Twitter).

By December 2023, Partridge showed support for Rodrigo during her Jingle Ball performance alongside friends Conan Gray and Madison Hu.

Partridge was also seen at the Saturday Night Live afterparty, the same night the “Vampire” singer performed as a musical guest. The two were spotted leaving in the same car afterward, according to Just Jared. Later in December, the pair seemingly confirmed their relationship by being photographed showcasing their affection during an outing in NYC.

Several outlets reported in December 2025 that Rodrigo and Partridge had ended their relationship after two years of dating.
