Desperate Housewives debuted in 2004, captivating fans with the drama surrounding the residents of Wisteria Lane. The Marc Cherry-created series premiered on ABC on October 3, 2004, featuring main cast members Teri Hatcher (Susan Mayer), Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo), Marcia Cross (Bree Van de Kamp), and Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis) […]

Although Hatcher, Huffman, Longoria, and Cross portrayed friends on-screen, rumors of behind-the-scenes tension circulated during filming. When the series concluded in 2012, reports indicated that Longoria, Huffman, Cross, and Vanessa Williams — who joined the cast in season seven — collaborated to present farewell gifts to the crew, while Hatcher was seemingly excluded and later commented on the alleged discord with her co-stars.

“I will never disclose the true and complicated journey we all had, but I wish everyone associated with this show well,” she stated in an email to TV Guide Magazine at the time. “Marc created a magnificent world called Wisteria Lane from scratch, complete with picket fences and flowers forever in bloom … featuring four very contrasting characters: a self-absorbed girl, a stressed-out woman, a controlling perfectionist, and a kindly but clumsy soul-searcher. Those four roles and the actresses who played them blended together in a way that reminded me of the saying ‘once in a lifetime.’”
