Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll Still Expecting Baby Despite Split
Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll may have parted ways, but their dreams of parenthood remain alive.
In the June 18 episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast, Bunnie, 46, disclosed that the former couple is committed to continuing their fertility journey, aspiring to start a family despite their separation.
“You guys might be surprised to hear this, but we’re still planning to have a baby,” Bunnie shared on the podcast.
Before filing for divorce after a decade of marriage, Bunnie and Jelly Roll faced a challenging IVF journey in their attempts to conceive.
Recognizing their “unconventional” situation, Bunnie elaborated on their shared determination to not abandon their baby dream.
“We’re still planning to have a baby together, and we’re going to co-parent,” Bunnie continued. “I’m thrilled to experience life through a child’s eyes, which is why I won’t let this baby journey hold me back. J has been incredibly supportive about us having a baby together, and he’s on board with it too.”
Bunnie added, “We’re just going to raise little Nugget as one happy family.”
Bunnie has previously opened up about the challenges of IVF, and she revisited this topic in Thursday’s podcast.
“It completely took a toll on me. It affected me emotionally, spiritually, and physically,” she revealed.
“It was so tough that for the past year and a half, I felt like a shell of who I used to be while going through these IVF processes.”
Bunnie also candidly discussed the pregnancy losses she and Jelly Roll endured during their journey.
“J and I have lost four embryos. We’ve had three transfers, but we lost the twins we intended to have, along with the other two,” she expressed, describing the experience as “devastating” and “heart-wrenching.”
Later in the podcast, Bunnie referred to Jelly Roll as her “best friend,” noting that their relationship deteriorated after they had “served our purpose for each other,” and stated that infidelity was not a factor in their divorce.
Jelly Roll also addressed the situation, ensuring their relationship remains amicable.
“Me and my wife are best friends. We will always be best friends. We just spoke earlier today,” he shared on stage in New York on Thursday. “There was no cheating. She discussed everything in her podcast, and you can listen to it. Every word is true.”
Earlier this week, Us Weekly confirmed that Jelly Roll quietly filed for divorce from Bunnie back in May.
According to court documents obtained by Us, the country singer cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, stating that the “parties are unable to live together successfully as Husband and Wife” any longer.
Jelly Roll is a father of two from previous relationships, sharing daughter Bailee with ex-girlfriend Felicia Beckwith and son Noah Buddy, 9, with ex Melisa Ann Cowell. (During their marriage, Jelly Roll and Bunnie had primary custody of Bailee while she was a minor.)
