Kailyn Lowry Invested Nearly $1 Million in Custody Dispute

Former Teen Mom star Kailyn Lowry candidly discussed the varying dynamics of coparenting with her exes.

“It varies from day to day,” Lowry, 34, remarked during her June 22 appearance on Gia Giudice’s “Casual Chaos” podcast. “With one of the dads, we communicate only through email. Phone calls require scheduling, and we don’t use text messages at all. It’s strictly emails.”

While she refrained from naming names, Lowry described her interactions with another ex as “super tumultuous.”

“I’ve spent nearly a million dollars on that child custody case,” she shared. “It’s been quite the journey.”

Lowry is the mother of seven children by four different fathers.

She had her first son, Isaac Elliott, 16, with high school boyfriend Jo Rivera. Her pregnancy was featured in MTV’s 16 and Pregnant back in 2010. Lowry and ex Javi Marroquin share a son, Lincoln, who is 12. Additionally, she welcomed sons Lux, 8, and Creed, 5, with Chris Lopez. Lowry’s three youngest children — Rio, 3, and twins Verse and Valley, 2 — are with her ex-fiancé Elijah Scott.

Lowry pointed out that “tea pages” on social media complicate her parenting experience.

“That’s tough because they scrutinize my actions and those of the kids’ dads, which leads to a lot of opinions. The kids notice that,” she explained. “Without that, I believe things would be so much simpler.”

Despite their split in July 2025, Lowry and Scott live next to each other, which aids their coparenting arrangement.

“We share a driveway, so it makes things convenient,” she said on Monday’s podcast episode. “We haven’t needed to go to court, and there aren’t any child support orders.”

She further commented, “If someone were to ask me what my ideal coparenting scenario looks like, it would definitely be this one because it’s just so easy. Really, it is. Though, the neighbor can be a bit of a character.”

As the holiday season approaches, Kailyn Lowry isn’t preparing to celebrate. “I actually don’t do holidays,” Lowry, 32, told E! News in an interview published on Tuesday, November 19. “All my kids go to their dads, where they have big families that love their children. I’m perfectly happy to send them off…”

Lowry joked that her current boyfriend, Isaac “Ike” Knighton, “loves it” and laughed off the situation entirely.

“I’m sure he enjoys it. I’m certain the ex does, too,” she said. “It’s practically reality show material, but I digress.”

Lowry provided another update about coparenting on the “LadyGang” podcast late last month.

“Honestly, who you parent with can make or break the entire experience,” she said during the May 27 podcast episode. “It’s already a struggle even with the most supportive partner.”

She added, “When you enter this situation without a partner, thinking you’ll raise a child together, it can quickly feel like a fight or flight moment when you’re deep into parenthood.”
