Below Deck Cast Reacts to Nathan Gallagher’s Arrest
The Below Deck franchise cast has primarily opted to remain silent regarding Nathan Gallagher‘s arrest for domestic violence.
Nathan made his debut in the Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 in 2024, quickly forming a connection with Gael Cameron, who was in a relationship at that time. The two eventually explored their bond and had an on-and-off relationship before welcoming their first child, Kayden, in June 2025.
In season 11, airing in 2026, Nathan faced the challenge of balancing fatherhood—while Gael lived near the dock—with his professional life. Off-screen, news broke in August 2026 about Nathan’s arrest on domestic violence charges in Australia, stemming from an alleged incident with a 29-year-old woman in December 2025.
Nathan was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent, and common assault. He was granted conditional bail but later convicted on three counts of domestic violence for failing to appear in court.
“I’m not claiming I was perfect. I wasn’t. I made mistakes, and I will take responsibility for my own actions,” Nathan stated in an August 2026 interview with Rolling Stone. “I will not accept being portrayed solely through one account of a relationship when there is another side and evidence relating to it. I have contemporaneous video footage from the night in question, as well as messages and other records, which I believe provide important context.”
Us confirmed that Nathan is currently the subject of an Apprehended Violence Application filed on Gael’s behalf in New South Wales. Meanwhile, Bravo made the decision to terminate Nathan following his domestic violence arrest.

In September 2026, Gael discussed their complex relationship, stating, “Hey guys, I just want to say thank you so much for the support you’ve shown for Kayden and I. It’s been a tough season, but I have been using the past few months to quietly heal and rebuild for little man [Kayden] and myself.”
She added: “I truly appreciate the love you’ve sent our way, especially given everything that has come to light, and I am really working on rediscovering myself and moving forward.”
Aesha Scott
“Can people please give Gael some GRACE!?” Aesha wrote via her Instagram Story in September 2026. “That poor woman has been through hell and back these last two years, a hell that most of you attacking her from your high horse at home cannot truly understand. During this time, she was bombarded with lies every day, leaving her confused about many aspects of her life.”
Aesha continued, “I will always stand by her because she is one of the kindest souls I have ever encountered in my life. Yes, I understand she went to Croatia and participated in a public forum where people have opinions, but again, you have no idea what led up to that or what followed. Please show kindness.”

Joy addressed Nathan’s legal issues indirectly by cropping him out of photos from season 11 and crossing out his face.
Hannah Ferrier
The former Below Deck Med star, who had a brief appearance in season 11, also excluded Nathan from her photos during her time on the Akira One.
Joe Bradley
Following the news of Nathan’s arrest, Joe opted to exclude Nathan from his shared photos. He also reposted Aesha’s statement, showing solidarity with Gael amidst off-screen critique.
Ben Willoughby and Kyle Stillie
After the news about Nathan’s arrest surfaced, Ben shared an Instagram video criticizing Bravo for its casting techniques. In the comments, Kyle reflected on his experience as a newcomer.
“You know, when I walked into your season, I’d never even been on a yacht, let alone seen one,” he wrote in September 2026. “Casting flew me to Miami for my Stcw and then straight to Grenada to start filming, and while filming, production continually urged us to be ‘larger than life’ because ‘this isn’t yachting, this is Below Deck.’ Controversy is precisely what they’re after, right?”
