Brenda Song Opens Up About Her Simplified Makeup Routine and Celebrates London Tipton’s ‘More Is More’ Philosophy
Brenda Song has transformed her makeup routine significantly (and for the better!) compared to her 2003 style.
On Monday, April 7, the 37-year-old Song shared her beauty regimen via Merit Beauty’s TikTok, expressing her surprise at how much she has evolved over the years.
“Don’t tell 2003 me because all she ever wore was a smokey eye, a striking red lip, bold brows, and a full face of contour,” she joked. “Now, I’m a bit more understated.”
Song acknowledged her makeup artist from her days on Disney’s The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, stating, “She taught me to choose one focal point for my makeup and focus on that.”
Song began her routine with Merit’s The Minimalist concealer stick in Palomino, applying it under her eyes and on her cheeks. She followed that with the brand’s Bronze Balm in Seine to warm up her cheeks and forehead.
“Reflecting on my Disney days brings back so much joy,” she mentioned while blending the bronzer into her skin. “London Tipton was truly my dream character. I loved embodying her each day. Her closet was to die for,” Song reminisced about her Suite Life character. “More was definitely more.”

Next, she applied Merit’s Flush Balm in Cheeky, dabbing the rosy hue into her cheeks.
As she filled in her brows with the Brow 1990 in Brown-Black, Song reflected on the days she tweezed her eyebrows into thin lines for Suite Life to conform to the trends of a trendy teenager. “It was quite traumatizing,” she shared. “When the micro-blading trend hit in the mid-2000s, I jumped on that bandwagon.”
She also added “depth” to her eyes with Solo Shadow in Midcentury and enhanced her lashes with the brand’s mascara. Song finished her look with Merit’s Signature Lip Liner in Coupé.
“And that’s the final look. Yay me!” Song exclaimed before wrapping up the video, nodding to London’s iconic catchphrase.
