Sabrina Carpenter Strips Down Following Controversial Album Artwork

Sabrina Carpenter is bold about her confidence.

On June 12, Carpenter, 26, graced the cover of Rolling Stone, showcasing her daring side by posing nude, strategically covering herself with her long, flowing hair. Opting for wavy locks instead of her usual curls, she let her tresses tumble down her back, all the way to the floor. The look was finished off with delicate white stockings adorned with lace trim.

Her makeup complemented the boldness of her look, featuring rosy cheeks, flirty lashes, and a soft pink lip. A hookah pipe and a pair of white heels accentuated the setting while she gazed dramatically upwards, illuminated by warm light.

This daring photoshoot follows criticism directed at her for the provocative cover of her upcoming album, Man’s Best Friend, which faced backlash for catering to the “male gaze.” (For context, Carpenter was seen interacting closely with a man on the album cover. Man’s Best Friend is set to drop on August 29.)

In her Rolling Stone interview, the “Taste” artist expressed her commitment to her blonde image. Often compared to a Polly Pocket for her platinum hair and petite frame — at five feet tall — blonde has become synonymous with Carpenter’s identity.

“I tried being a brunette, but it didn’t suit me, so here we are,” she remarked. Carpenter previously received scrutiny for being speculated as the subject of Olivia Rodrigo’s song “Driver’s License,” where Rodrigo sang about her ex Joshua Bassett with “that blonde girl.” Afterward, Carpenter went even blonder, claiming it wasn’t intentional at that time. “I knew it wouldn’t stop me from pursuing my passion; that’s just how I’ve always felt,” she shared.

Carpenter added: “It’s important to be resilient. What I learned during that period was to trust myself and believe that things will unfold as they should. Relationships come into your life for a reason; it might not be apparent at first, but clarity comes with time.”
