Mormon Wives’ Zac and Conner Set the Record Straight on Lavender Marriage Speculations
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’s Zac Affleck received support from Conner Leavitt while tackling the “lavender marriage” speculation.
“When the lavender marriage rumors finally reach you, but you have each other’s backs,” Zac, 28, captioned a TikTok on Thursday, June 19, which showcased Conner, 29, with his legs draped over Zac’s shoulders.
He mentioned that the video served as a way to “welcome” Conner to DadTok. Conner responded to the post, saying, “Always here for you bro. Day or night.” In reply to a fan’s joke about the video being “double lavender marriage,” Zac quipped, “Yeah, that was the joke lol.”
Conner and his wife, Whitney Leavitt, have embraced the rumors surrounding their marriage since the premiere of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in September 2024. During the season 1 launch, Conner and Whitney, 32, moved back to Utah from Hawaii after previously leaving due to Conner’s admission about a secret Tinder account aimed at soliciting NSFW images.
The couple, who had two children at the time, worked on their marriage and later welcomed a third child.
“It takes time and a lot of effort. I recall being in therapy when my therapist asked, ‘Before we proceed, you need to decide if this is something you want to work on or not?’” Whitney exclusively shared with Us Weekly in September 2024. “It was imperative for me to reflect on whether I wanted to rebuild this trust. That doesn’t imply that certain things aren’t still triggering for me. When they are, I strive to work through it and keep moving forward.”
Whitney acknowledged that many positive aspects of their marriage didn’t make it onto the show.
“There were many profound moments between Conner and me that were excluded from the season, which is fine — I’m not the editor,” she shared on “The Squeeze” podcast that same month. “In a moment during filming the pilot, the showrunner inquired why we moved to Hawaii, and it wasn’t a pre-planned conversation that Conner and I had.”
Whitney continued: “Conner looked at me and revealed everything. It was incredibly vulnerable, emotional, and powerful. I’m so proud of him because that was a decision he needed to make, not me.”
The reality star praised Conner’s efforts.
“He battled a porn addiction for quite some time, which was understandably challenging to overcome. I was unaware of that struggle,” she pointed out. “Coming through something so tough truly strengthens your relationship. It’s unfortunate, but I’m incredibly grateful for where we are now.”
As viewers speculated about Conner’s sexuality, the couple enjoyed teasing the comments on TikTok.
“Do I need to release a sex tape or something? Trust me, we’re good. Everything is fine,” Whitney joked on the “Off the Vine” podcast in October 2024. “It’s probably because during our personal struggles — I know you haven’t seen it, but he had a porn addiction — there’s a scene where one of my friends comments on how she can see why he was confused sexually.”
Whitney also mentioned that her husband was sexually assaulted at a young age and has worked to process that trauma, calling him “so inspiring.”
“I think people kind of misinterpreted that,” she reflected at the time.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is currently available for streaming on Hulu.
