Alyssa Milano Pays Tribute to Julian McMahon Following His Untimely Passing at 56
Alyssa Milano expressed her sorrow over the passing of her Charmed co-star Julian McMahon in a heartfelt tribute.
In a detailed message shared on Instagram on Friday, July 4, the 52-year-old actress opened up about her grief after the news of the Australian actor’s death, following a private struggle with cancer. He was 56.
“I’m heartbroken,” Milano stated in the heartfelt tribute. “Julian McMahon was magic. That smile. That laugh. That talent. That presence. He entered a room and illuminated it—not just with charisma, but with kindness, mischief, and a deep understanding.”
Milano included a collection of images in her post, featuring selfies of the two and moments from their time working together. Milano portrayed Phoebe Halliwell on Charmed, while McMahon played her romantic interest, Cole Turner, throughout the series.
“We shared years on Charmed— years filled with scenes, stories, and countless in-between moments. He made me feel secure as an actor and seen as a woman. He challenged, teased, and supported me. Despite our differences, we always understood one another,” she continued. “Julian was not just my TV husband; he was a cherished friend. The kind who checks in, remembers important things, shares openly, and tells the truth—even when it’s hard, but always with love.”
Milano extended her condolences to McMahon’s family following the devastating news.
“My heart goes out to Kelly, Madison, and Iliana—his girls, his everything. He cherished them. You could sense it in every conversation, every story, every message. Above all, he was a family man who loved profoundly,” Milano wrote.
At the end of her post, Milano added, “Losing him feels surreal. Too early. Too unjust. Rest, my friend. I’ll hold your laughter with me. Forever Cole. Forever Julian.”
McMahon’s wife, Kelly McMahon, confirmed the actor’s death in a statement to Deadline on Friday, July 4.
“With an open heart, I wish to inform everyone that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, passed away peacefully this week after a courageous fight against cancer,” Kelly shared in the statement. “Julian adored life, his family, his friends, his work, and his fans. His greatest wish was to bring joy to as many lives as possible. We request support during this time to allow our family to mourn in privacy. We hope those Julian brought joy to continue celebrating life. We are thankful for the memories.”
