Anne Hathaway Responds to Wearing Her Red Maternity Outfit Backwards
Anne Hathaway’s maternity outfit mishap was unplanned.
On Wednesday, July 1, Hathaway, 43, took to TikTok to address the buzz surrounding her red Ashlyn Bowes jumpsuit worn backwards. In her video, she highlighted various headlines from media outlets pointing out the amusing fashion blunder.
Expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, Hathaway pivoted the camera to showcase her outfit, exclaiming, “I did?” The Devil Wears Prada actress then shrugged and tucked her hair behind her ear. Whispering with a cringe, she admitted, “I did.”
“😮😃🫠,” Hathaway captioned her post, eliciting laughter from her fans in the comments.
“It looks good both ways,” one fan remarked, while another noted, “At least the upside of being famous is that mistakes can seem deliberate 😭😭.” A third comment read, “Didn’t notice, it’s fine queen.”
In her defense, the design could easily be interpreted as reversible and works both ways. Priced at $2,300, the jumpsuit features a boat neck with a scoop back, long sleeves, a symmetrical basque waist, and a ruffled peplum, with baggy pants that make it possible to wear backwards.

Hathaway styled her outfit, worn during her outings in New York City, with Bulgari serpent hoop earrings and a matching necklace and watch. She completed her chic look with Aquazzura pumps and a heart-shaped Alaïa shoulder bag.

For makeup, she opted for soft tones with rosy cheeks, defined brows, and glossy pink lips. Her brunette locks were styled with a middle part and a blowout.
Hathaway revealed her pregnancy with Shulman, 45, via social media on June 19. The couple, married since 2012, are parents to sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6.
