Prince George Resembles William During Outing with Kate

Princess Kate Middleton enjoyed a day out with her eldest son, Prince George, to commemorate Armed Forces Day.

“Honouring Service and Sacrifice,” was a post shared on Kate’s official Instagram on Saturday, June 27, read. “Celebrating Armed Forces Day by reflecting on time spent with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby.”

The post elaborated, “Gaining insights into the remarkable history of these aircraft and connecting with the pilots and engineers dedicated to preserving their legacy. A moving reminder of the bravery, expertise, and commitment of those who serve, both past and present. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has served and continues to serve.”

At 44, Kate visited the military site with 12-year-old George, who nearly towered over the Princess of Wales as they toured the area. George even had the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of an aircraft, looking even more like his father, Prince William. (William, 44, previously served as a pilot in the Royal Air Force.)

Prince George seems to be following in the footsteps of his father, Prince William. An onlooker shared with U.K.’s The Sun that George, 11, had recently completed his first flying lesson at a Berkshire airfield in England just before returning to school. Reports indicated that William, 42, and his wife, Princess Kate Middleton […]

William and Kate, married since 2011, are parents to George and his two younger siblings, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 7. Furthermore, George is second in line for the British throne and will eventually take on the responsibilities of a king.

William, who is first in line after his father King Charles III, is actively preparing George for his eventual role.

“It’s a thought-provoking question, and a significant one,” William remarked during an October 2025 episode of The Reluctant Traveller when discussing George’s future reign. “There are so many factors to consider, but my goal is to create a world where my son can be proud of our work, a world and a role that positively affects people’s lives.”

He further added, “I hope we won’t revert to some of the practices that [Prince] Harry and I had to endure, and I’ll strive to ensure we don’t go backward in that regard.”

In the meantime, George is also gearing up for the next phase of his education.

Princess Kate Middleton’s role in preparing her eldest son, Prince George, for kingship will be “different” compared to that of her husband, Prince William. “She will never have a constitutional role, except as regent in a worst-case scenario, if George ascends before turning 18,” royal historian Marlene Koenig exclusively told Us Weekly. “She is there to be the […]

“George [was] boarding last night,” William mentioned on an episode of Heart Breakfast last month, while giving shout-outs to Charlotte and Louis. “So, Charlotte, Louis, if you’re hearing this, make sure you’re on time, please. Also, don’t argue about who gets to listen to what this morning.”

Currently, George attends Lambrook School in England with his siblings and is expected to follow in William’s footsteps by enrolling at Eton College next year.
