Below Deck’s Ben Confronts Inexperienced Guests in Season Finale
Chef Ben Robinson faces a daunting task in the Below Deck Down Under season finale as his final group of guests proves to be quite challenging.
In an exclusive clip from Us Weekly for the episode airing on Monday, June 1, Ben checks in on the guests, only to discover they’re dissatisfied with lunch, despite it being their chosen meal.
“I’m not happy. You know what I was expecting [but] they don’t have much,” comments the co-primary, while another guest remarks that there’s just “a bunch of lettuce.”
At this moment, Captain Jason Chambers arrives with sizeable red snapper fillets. The guests, however, are less than enthusiastic after the co-primary asserts he “did not” request fish.
“I am not a rabbit. The amount of vegetables presented … I’m a huge meat eater. Anything protein-based, I’m all for,” he expresses to Ben. “Except fish. So from now on, I’m not a big fish eater.”
Despite his dissatisfaction with the meal, the co-primary contradicts himself by admitting he requested that lunch be “light” on his preference sheet, while also naming lobster and shrimp as desired options.
The camera shifts to the table showcasing various seafood dishes. In a confessional, Ben reveals the challenge he faces with the feedback he’s receiving.
“I aim to prepare the best food of my career during this charter. Unfortunately, we’re dealing with rather immature tastes,” he shares. “He wanted a seafood extravaganza — and I’ve provided him with everything seafood available on the boat. Now, he wants a burger.”
This season of Below Deck Down Under marked Ben’s comeback to the franchise after a hiatus. Prior to the finale, Jason mentioned to Us that season 4 was “challenging for everyone” aboard.
“Everyone had their individual struggles. Daisy was entering a new franchise and had something to prove following a difficult season on Sailing Yacht, where she struggled to assert herself with crew members. João returned as captain with the challenge of managing egos to assist me,” he explained in February. “Then there’s Ben, who hadn’t been in this environment for a while and has been running his own business.”
Jason elaborated, “He took the plunge after a difficult relationship to say yes to being here within 12 hours, turning his life upside down. We were all navigating challenges. Looking back, it’s clear we all faced personal hurdles going into it.”
Below Deck Down Under airs on Bravo Mondays at 8 p.m. ET, with new episodes available for streaming the next day on Peacock.
