Bre Tiesi Stops Engaging with Chrishell Stause Drama
Selling Sunset’s Bre Tiesi is done with the commotion surrounding her latest piece of jewelry.
“Bre has addressed the rumors circulating on social media,” a source informed Us Weekly on Wednesday, April 16. “Bre is excelling in her career right now, and many cast members are anxious about what will be included in the next series edit, following their numerous failed attempts to undermine her character without any response from Bre.”
The insider revealed that Tiesi, 31, acknowledged her mistake in not thoroughly investigating the brand and its associations related to her jewelry.
“She accepted a bracelet as a gift from a friend who belongs to the LGBTQIA+ community, and was caught off guard by the brand’s associations with a well-known ancient symbol,” the source elaborated. “She has no intention of further responding to these baseless accusations, and the production team is fully supportive of her.”
Chrishell Stause, on the other hand, seems to be skeptical of Tiesi’s defense regarding her recent controversial post on social media.
“I just saw her justification,” Stause, 43, commented on her Instagram Story on Tuesday, April 15. “So she ‘tagged the wrong brand’ even though they are all under the same company and MAGA was prominently displayed right next to her wrist.”
The Oppenheim Group agent, who is married to G-Flip, a nonbinary musician from Australia, went on to provide a definition of the term transvestite, which she deemed an “outdated and often offensive term for someone who wears clothing typically associated with the opposite gender, also referred to as a cross-dresser.”
“It’s not my job to educate her that this term is EXTREMELY outdated, but here’s some free knowledge,” Stause added. “And if my partner WAS trans, which they are not, I would love them just the same. GTFOH. Someone take my phone.”
Earlier in the week, Tiesi, 33, shared a photo showcasing the new jewelry she received from a brand presumably called MAGA Bracelets.
“Thanks @MagaBracelets,” she posted on her Instagram Story. “Need some extra protection these days.”
Stause chose to share the post again while adding her own commentary.
“Some people are GREAT for television, but when it comes to addressing real issues (like using slurs, etc.), they tend to be cut,” she claimed. “Consider this as guidance when watching season 9.”
After showcasing her new jewelry, Tiesi apologized “for the oversight” and emphasized that she is “far from MAGA,” referencing the “Make America Great Again” political movement popularized by current President and former presidential candidate, Donald Trump, during the 2016 election.
“I have a dedicated social media team that assists me daily, and the bracelet was a gift from @Lavaraverse rather than the tagged brand,” she stated. “Everyone makes mistakes, and in tagging the brand, I did not conduct the necessary research to ensure the correct brand was properly tagged. No one should take my story and misinterpret my intentions for their own gain.”
Growing up, Tiesi mentioned that she always wore the Eye of Horus, which is “symbolic of protection and healing.”
“I regret that this situation has spread without my full perspective, and I assure you this mistake won’t happen again,” she further explained. “I hope this clarifies any misconceptions. I appreciate your understanding.”
Tiesi also shared a direct message from her jewelry contact, Jennifer Stano, who defended her in this situation.
“Hey, I usually don’t involve myself in matters like this, but I feel compelled to support Bre because this is a significant misunderstanding,” Stano stated in the message reposted by Tiesi, explaining that in March, she had posted a photo wearing evil eye bracelets that piqued Tiesi’s interest.
“It was simply the wrong company tagged,” Stano clarified, “and now she’s facing backlash for an issue that wasn’t her fault. Just wanted to set the record straight.”
Since joining the cast of Selling Sunset in season 6, Tiesi has found it challenging to establish a solid friendship — or even a cordial working relationship — with Stause. Their relationship was further strained when Stause seemingly sided with Chelsea Lazkani during a disagreement with Tiesi in season 8.
“Unfortunately, I will say that I currently don’t have a friendship with [Bre],” Stause commented during a September 2024 Q&A on Snapchat. “[I’m] just really disappointed about that whole situation.”
The release date for Selling Sunset season 9 has not yet been announced.
