Celebrities Share Their Experiences Filming Sex Scenes: Awkward Moments, Chemistry, and Beyond
Filming sex scenes in television shows and films often leads to a mix of experiences for actors, both positive and negative.
Intimacy coordinator Brooke M. Haney shared insights with Us Weekly about the behind-the-scenes process of shooting intimate scenes. Contrary to common belief, Haney emphasized that it is not “very common” for actors to experience arousal during these scenes.
“We’re at work, right? With the lights shining bright, microphones, several cameras pointed at you, along with the director, DP [director of photography], and other crew members observing from monitors—it’s just not that seductive,” she revealed to Us in 2024.
However, she added, “Sometimes bodies have physiological responses that are beyond our control.” When this occurs, she advises actors to perform some push-ups or jumping jacks. “That redirects the blood flow, and then we’re all set,” she explained.
