Demi Lovato and Ex Joe Jonas Reunite for Camp Rock 3

They are amazing! Demi Lovato got together with her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas and the Jonas Brothers to commemorate the upcoming launch of Disney’s Camp Rock 3.

Lovato, 33, joined Joe, 36, and his siblings Kevin Jonas and Nick Jonas at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, on Monday, August 10, for the world premiere of their Disney Channel original film. (Lovato played Mitchie Torres in the original Camp Rock movies, while the Jonas Brothers portrayed members of the fictional band Connect 3.)

The Jonas Brothers co-produced Camp Rock 3 with Lovato and reprise their roles alongside Wizards of Waverly Place’s Maria Canals-Barrera, who returns as Connie Torres, the director of a summer music camp. (Joe and Lovato dated back in 2010 but have since formed a close friendship.)

This highly anticipated sequel introduces Liamani Segura (Descendants: Wicked Wonderland), newcomer Hudson Stone, and Malachi Barton (Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires) as the next group of Camp Rock campers.

The musical comedy by Disney shows Connect 3 returning to Camp Rock to find an opening act for their tour after their first choice unexpectedly withdraws.

A synopsis states, “As campers compete for the chance to perform for their favorite band, tensions build and friendships are put to the test, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations, and romances. Camp Rock’s new campers include the bold Sage (Segura) and her laid-back brother, Desi (Stone); cello prodigy Rosie (Lumi Pollack); drummer Cliff (Casey Trotter); choreo queen Callie (Brooklynn Pitts); the intimidating influencer Madison (Ava Jean); and the camp’s bad boy Fletch (Barton).”

This year, Lovato shared on the “Not Gonna Lie” podcast her desire to offer the Camp Rock 3 cast the guidance she wished she had received when she started her career on the Disney Channel.

“I wish I had received advice, which could have saved me a lot of mistakes and helped me find my way sooner,” Lovato explained in the January podcast episode. “I appreciate the journey I’ve had without a mentor [and] without advice from others. I’d love to mentor someone and guide them through the path I took.

She added, “There’s no manual for being a pop star, and there are specific things I would tell [them].”

Lovato went on to detail the “mini pep talk” she provided to the young stars of Camp Rock 3 during their first meeting.

“I greeted them as a group and shared some advice like, ‘Don’t hesitate to take time off; prioritize your well-being first,’” she recounted. “It’s crucial to look after your mental health so you can excel in other areas, like performing or acting.’”

She emphasized, “‘Without good mental health, everything can be lost if you get burnt out. Taking care of yourself is paramount.’”

Camp Rock 3 is set to premiere on the Disney Channel on Thursday, August 13, at 8 p.m. ET, and will be available on Disney+ the following day.
