Eddie Murphy’s Family: A Look at His Children
Eddie Murphy has celebrated the arrival of 10 children over the years, praising each member of his blended family.
“My kids are the focal point of my life. Once you have kids, it’s all about them,” he stated in his November 2025 Netflix documentary, Being Eddie.
Murphy’s children include eldest son Eric from his relationship with ex-girlfriend Paulette McNeely, daughters Bria, Shayne, Zola, and Bella, as well as son Myles with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell Murphy. He also has son Christian with ex-girlfriend Tamara Hood and daughter Angel with ex-girlfriend Mel B. Murphy shares daughter Izzy and youngest son Max with his wife, Paige Butcher.
As a grandfather, Murphy sees his son Myles and his wife Carly Fink raising two daughters, while Bria announced in November 2025 that she is expecting her first child with husband Michael Xavier.

Eric Murphy
“Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there. Extremely grateful for mine!! 🙏❤️🖤,” Eric shared in a June 2021 Instagram post featuring him with his father.
In December 2024, it was reported that Eric proposed to Martin Lawrence’s daughter, Jasmin, and they tied the knot in May 2025.
“They went off, everyone was making big wedding plans, then they decided to keep it intimate, just the two of them,” Murphy mentioned on The Jennifer Hudson Show, adding they might have a “big party” later.
In February 2026, Eric and Jasmin announced they were expecting their first child, a daughter named Ari Skye, who was born in April 2026.
Bria Murphy
The Shrek star’s first child with Nicole Mitchell Murphy married actor Michael Xavier in July 2022.
“Daddy’s girl forever,” Bria captioned her Instagram photos of the father-daughter dance at the wedding.
Bria later announced her pregnancy and showed off her baby bump at the premiere of her dad’s documentary, Being Eddie, in November 2025.
Christian Murphy
Christian shared Christmas photos with Eddie Murphy and all his siblings in December 2019, captioning them with, “Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and happy holiday season from my family to yours.”
Myles Murphy
Myles became a father in July 2019 with the arrival of daughter Evie with girlfriend Carly Fink.
“There’s no sweeter blessing than seeing your grandchild,” Eddie stated in a January 2020 interview with Vanity Fair.
The couple married in September 2023 and welcomed their second child, daughter Zuri Liv Murphy, in October 2024.
Shayne Murphy
The California native shared a nostalgic photo of her father in April 2017, captioning it, “The coolest man I’ll ever know.”
Zola Murphy
Zola identifies herself as a “writer” in her Instagram bio.
Bella Murphy
The youngest of Eddie and Nicole Murphy’s children appeared alongside her father in Coming 2 America in March 2021.
“I was very nervous,” Bella admitted to Entertainment Tonight ahead of the film’s release. “I didn’t want people to think I was just doing this because I can. I wanted my performance to be strong.”
Angel Murphy
During Mel B’s emergency surgery for two broken ribs in December 2018, Eddie Murphy took responsibility for their daughter.
“Angel is very well cared for. Eddie and Angel have been spending a lot of quality time together recently,” a source told Us Weekly at the time.
Izzy Murphy
Murphy welcomed his first child with Paige Butcher in May 2016. “Both mother and daughter are doing well,” the representative announced at that time.
Max Murphy
About a month after his youngest son’s birth in November 2018, the Dr. Dolittle actor posed for a public photo with all 10 of his children.
In the holiday portrait, Murphy held then-2-year-old Izzy in his arms.
