How to Cast Your Vote for Love Island USA After a Network Error
Love Island USA allows fans to vote throughout the season — but how does the voting process work after that app malfunction?
This popular series on Peacock brings together a group of singles who must partner up to remain in the luxurious villa. Known as Islanders, they live in isolation while under continuous video surveillance. To stay in the competition and have a chance at the $100,000 prize, they need to be coupled up.
While the Islanders film around the clock for weeks, viewers can watch daily episodes and cast votes through an app that influences the couples and the contestants’ fate.
Voting for season 8 initially opened on Monday, June 9, but users encountered glitches and a message stating “network error” when trying to access the Love Island app on their devices.
“Vote tonight to determine which Islanders the new Bombshells — Sol, Jen, and Caleb — should couple up with!” announced the official Instagram account of the show. “Voting starts at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT and ends at 1 a.m. E.T./10 p.m. PT. Voting is limited to the U.S. only. Link in our bio.”
Once voting concluded, Love Island USA shared an update on Instagram addressing the issue: “For those facing challenges registering to vote, we apologize for the inconvenience. Our team is actively working on it. Please stay tuned for updates.”
There was further clarification following the app’s crash.
“Your incredible enthusiasm for America’s first vote led to the app crashing. But don’t worry, we’re extending the voting period until 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT on Wednesday, June 10!” the new post stated.
Before the premiere of season 8, Peacock also reminded viewers to maintain a positive attitude.
“The Villa thrives on good vibes, and so does this community. We love your reactions, opinions, and discussions, but it’s essential that everyone feels safe and respected,” their statement advised. “This space is for enjoyment, not negativity — so keep it kind and positive, and remember: this is LOVE Island!”
