For Catholics, First Communion is a special ceremony where children receive the Holy Eucharist for the first time. It’s also a moment for kids to affirm and celebrate their faith surrounded by friends and family. This sacrament usually occurs around the ages of 7 or 8.

“Jesus calls you to be witnesses of communion, builders of bridges, and sowers of trust in a world often marked by division and suspicion,” Pope Leo XIV previously shared with young people in November 2025 via Vatican News. “Do not be afraid to show that you are Christians, live the Gospel with enthusiasm, and share the joy that comes from encountering the Lord. Always remember these words, and be courageous in sharing their meaning with others: ‘In every situation of our life, we will experience that we are never alone, for as children, we are always loved, forgiven, and encouraged by God.’”
