Love Island USA Revives Disgusting Food Challenges Featuring Fish and Beans

This season of Love Island USA wouldn’t be complete without the iconic challenge where Islanders spit food into each other’s mouths.

In the episode aired on Friday, July 10, the Islanders were brought to a grocery store setup, where they were asked to check out quirky items like sardines, baked beans, pickled eggs, mushroom soup, and more. The challenge required couples to weigh each item by transferring it from one mouth to another and then onto the scale.

This resulted in some cringe-worthy fluid exchanges that nearly made some participants sick. The baby-birding continued with condiments like mayo and ketchup, much to the disgust of their fellow Islanders and viewers at home.

Love Island USA is infamous for these food-themed challenges involving mouth-to-mouth transfers. For instance, Season 7 featured an infamous milk exchange between Islanders.

Love Island USA is all about coupling up — so which Islanders are currently together, and who has already split in the villa? The popular dating show on Peacock returned in June 2026 with contestants including Aniya Harvey, Beatriz Hatz, Bryce Alakai Dettloff, KC Chandler, Mackenzie “Kenzie” Annis, Melanie Moreno, Sincere Rhea, Sean Reifel, Trinity Tatum, among others.

After several weeks of relationship developments, breakups, and dramatic moments, the love experiment is set to conclude on Sunday, July 12. The current couples will be narrowed down to a final four, which the audience will vote on.

Similar to previous seasons, each couple will have the opportunity to go on their own dates and decide whether they want to stay together, culminating in a vow exchange before the winning couple is revealed.

The final night will feature an envelope ceremony, where the couple that received the most public votes will be awarded two envelopes—one containing $100,000 and the other empty. The partner with the $100,000 choice has the option to either share the money as a sign of trust and commitment or take it all for themselves.

The Love Island franchise originated in the U.K. in 2002 and has since expanded globally with various spin-offs, including Love Island USA on Peacock. Each season, a new group of singles is challenged to pair off to win the $100,000 prize while staying in the villa.

Season 8 has witnessed plenty of off-screen drama, including the recent exit of Vasana Montgomery, whose past social media posts containing a slur resurfaced.

Additionally, Alannah Keyser was removed from the season following backlash over a resurfaced video allegedly showing her using a racial slur.

Similar controversies affected Season 7, where Yulissa Escobar left shortly after clips of her using racial slurs on a podcast emerged online.

Cierra Ortega from Season 7 also encountered backlash after her past social media usage of a slur came to light. She was removed from the villa and later apologized for her actions.

New episodes of Love Island USA air six days a week—except Wednesdays—on Peacock.
