Olivia Culpo Opens Up About C-Section Plans for Baby No. 2
Olivia Culpo is making arrangements for a hopefully seamless delivery.
“This marks the beginning of the third trimester,” Culpo, 34, stated in a video shared on Thursday, July 23, via TikTok. “I’ll be having a C-section since I had one last July, so a VBAC [vaginal birth after cesarean] isn’t an option for me.” (Many medical professionals advise waiting 18 to 24 months before attempting a VBAC following a C-section due to uterine rupture risks.)
Culpo and her husband, Christian McCaffrey, announced in May that they are expecting their second child, just a year after welcoming their daughter Collette in the summer of 2025.
She mentioned that she scheduled her C-section to accommodate McCaffrey’s, 30, busy NFL timetable.
“I arranged it for a day when Christian has a slightly lighter schedule; it’s not exactly an off-day for him,” Culpo explained regarding the San Francisco 49ers running back, who started training camp earlier this month. “He’ll be there for the birth and then will have to return. So, this experience will differ from my first child’s birth; I will be without my husband.”
Despite making adjustments for McCaffrey’s football commitments, Culpo expressed gratitude for her “village” of friends, family, and a nanny to help during his absence.
“A common misunderstanding is that football season kicks off in September when all the games start; however, it begins at the end of July when training camp starts, which leads directly into the season,” she clarified.

In another TikTok update, Culpo shared that her pregnancy “feels different,” yet has some similarities to her experience with Collette, who is now 13 months old.
“I think I’m expecting a boy, and I believe he will look just like my brother, Gus [Culpo],” she speculated about her unborn child’s gender. “I’ve been quite emotional lately. Christian leaving for the season is really sad; everything just feels overwhelming.”
In addition to preparing for her baby’s arrival, Culpo has been busy organizing their new home.
“I’ve been renovating this house for a year now. We finally moved in at the beginning of this week,” the Picolette founder shared on Thursday. “I cried for the entire day. … Moving with a small child requires considering their adjustment period, and Collette is in a new crib; her SlumberPod doesn’t fit over it… If anyone has advice on that, I’ll be thinking of you at 3 and 4 in the morning when I hear her crying.”
