Paris Hilton is reflecting on what truly matters after her Malibu residence was lost in the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.
On Sunday, January 19, Hilton, 43, took to Instagram to share a sweet video featuring her son Phoenix, 2, nestled in a blanket beside the family’s two dogs.
The video, which focused on the boy’s cherubic face with his pups Diamond and Baby lounging nearby, included the overlay text, “Take a moment to relax with sleepy Pheeny, Diamond, and Baby.”
The mother of two, who also has daughter London, 1, with husband Carter Reum, accompanied the video with a touching message. “Here’s some adorable footage of sleepy Pheeny and the puppies for your feed 🧘🏼♀️🩷 Amid everything happening around us, we often need a cute reminder to pause and take a mindful moment 🥹 #SlivingMom,” she wrote. (The term “Sliving” is a blend of “slaying” and “living,” a phrase that originated with Hilton.)
The post follows Hilton’s confirmation on January 9, where she revealed she witnessed her “home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV.” She elaborated on the experience, stating, “This home was where we created so many cherished memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we aspired to build a lifetime of memories with London.🥹.”
Despite her heartbreak, Hilton expressed a commendable outlook, stating, “While the loss is immense, I’m focusing on being grateful that my family and pets are safe. My thoughts and prayers go out to every family impacted by these fires. I feel for all the individuals who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets. My heart aches for those still facing danger or mourning even greater losses. The devastation is beyond comprehension.”
Hilton has remained optimistic despite the devastation from the L.A. wildfires, which have also affected several celebrities. She has stepped up to assist displaced animals amidst her personal loss.
On Monday, January 13, she announced via Instagram her plans to foster a dog that had been surrendered by a family who lost their home to the fires. “We’re also going to see if there are any other dogs still looking for their owners,” Hilton shared at the time, accompanied by a photo of her interacting with a cat in hopes of reuniting it with its owner amid the Altadena fires.
Hilton and numerous other celebrities have been sharing critical disaster resource information following the natural disaster, with her charity organization also extending assistance. In her January 13 post, she mentioned, “My nonprofit @1111Media Impact has contributed to the shelter’s efforts, and we’re still raising funds to support displaced families and pets 💰. Every donation counts in providing emergency relief, housing, and supplies. If you can, please consider donating or volunteering, as the Pasadena Humane Society is an exceptional charity to back!”
