Robert De Niro Enjoys Ms. Rachel Videos with Daughter Gia
Hello parents, Robert De Niro shares our experiences.
In a recent conversation with The Sunday Times, De Niro, 81, revealed that his mornings begin with his baby daughter Gia and the calming presence of Rachel Accurso, known to many as Ms. Rachel. She’s the YouTube sensation whose content is geared towards childhood learning and language skills.
“I’m an early riser,” he shared. “With a 19-month-old, I spend my mornings watching Ms. Rachel and giving her her bottle.”
When asked if he changes Gia’s diapers, the proud father of seven joked, “No, no, but I used to.”
Gia is De Niro’s seventh child and his first with partner Tiffany Chen, whom he met while filming The Intern in 2015. The two-time Oscar winner has adult children Drena, 57, and Raphael, 49, from his previous marriage to Diahnne Abbott; twins Julian and Aaron, 29, with ex Toukie Smith; and son Elliot, 26, and daughter Helen, 13, with his second wife, Grace Hightower, whom he divorced in 2018.
As a grandfather, De Niro has three young grandkids through Raphael. Sadly, Drena’s son Leandro passed away last July at the age of 19.
Regarding fatherhood, De Niro mused that his children would likely have varied perspectives on him. “Oh God, they would all say something different. Family is so complex,” he acknowledged. “I do my best; I hope they’re happy.”
There’s no doubt about his commitment, as De Niro recently traveled to Rwanda with his son Elliot to see the gorillas. “That was a worthwhile experience,” he expressed to The Times. “I’m also into safaris, and Madagascar is on my list.”
However, Disneyland isn’t a destination he’s eager to visit. “I have my doubts about that — the rides,” he said.
After celebrating Gia’s first birthday in March, De Niro called her a “pure joy,” mentioning to Entertainment Tonight, “She had a little cake, and it was very sweet.”
“She’s pure joy,” he continued, “there’s nothing about her that’s judgmental; she simply exists, bringing pure joy, for God’s sake.”
In a conversation with People last year, he added, “She’s such an adorable baby. So sweet. When I look at her, everything else fades away. It’s such a great joy and relief just to be present with her.”
Currently, De Niro is diving into a new business endeavor: opening the Nobu Beach Inn on the picturesque island of Barbuda. He is a co-owner of 57 restaurants and 42 hotels worldwide — an impressive portfolio he’s built over 35 years since launching the Tribeca Grill in New York in 1990.
Looking ahead, the actor will star in the upcoming 2025 film Alto Knights following his appearance in the 2024 Joker sequel Folie à Deux.
“I advise any actor, including my kids: if you’re auditioning, assume you won’t land the role. It liberates you, perhaps allowing for bolder choices,” De Niro told Stephen Colbert while discussing auditioning techniques.
With a remarkable film career under his belt, he shows no signs of slowing down.
When asked about his retirement plans in the People interview, De Niro simply replied, “Not at the moment.”
