Selena Gomez’s Husband Reveals Her ‘Childlike Diet’
Benny Blanco is sharing insights about his wife Selena Gomez’s unique eating habits.
During a recent recording of Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Goop” podcast, Blanco, 38, remarked that Gomez, 33, has “the diet of a 5-year-old child.”
According to the Daily Mail, Blanco mentioned that Gomez often chooses “whatever is bad for [her] diet” and “doesn’t really like” fruits or vegetables.
“This morning, I walked in and she was eating Jack in the Box at 6:45 in the morning,” Blanco said, adding that “the one healthy thing” the Only Murders in the Building star will attempt are meals from Paltrow’s Goop Kitchen takeout chain. “She will eat the s*** out of Goop.”
Gomez also has a particular fondness for pickles, as she shared on Blanco’s “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast in March.
“What is your favorite thing to eat in the world? … What’s your favorite salty snack that you have every night?” Blanco asked, while offering her a pickle snack.
Gomez and Blanco have been together since 2023 and got married two years later in 2025. Though Blanco is known as a record producer, he has also ventured into cooking and published his own cookbook, Open Wide.
“Cooking is intimidating,” Blanco exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2024. “Throwing a dinner party? Forget about it. But I promise you, Open Wide will be the secret handbook you need. You can pull [my book] out anytime to impress your guests.”
Even prior to her relationship with Blanco, the “Sunset Boulevard” singer sought to enhance her culinary skills.
“Those who know me realize that I love to cook, but I’m clueless about how to do it,” Gomez mentioned in a 2020 episode of Selena + Chef. “I can’t even make eggs correctly. So while I was home, I thought it was the perfect time to work on my kitchen abilities.”
Beginning during the COVID-19 pandemic, Gomez initiated her own cooking series to learn recipes from renowned chefs.
“I thought it might be a cool idea to create a cooking show where people could learn and improve their skills alongside me,” Gomez explained to The Hollywood Reporter in 2021, noting that the series raised funds for local nonprofits. “When we first started discussing the show, that was crucial to me. I always ensure there’s a charitable aspect to any partnership I engage in.”
She also mentioned, “Cooking shows appeal to a broad audience, and many find them very calming. It’s been interesting to hear that feedback.”
