Stars of Ginny and Georgia Uncertain About Whether Paul or Joe is the Baby’s Father

Ginny & Georgia has thrown in a surprising baby twist — yet midway through season 4, the cast remains uncertain about whether Paul or Joe is the father of Georgia’s child.

“We had heard whispers, but nobody really had clarity on the baby storyline — and then we watched the season,” Scott Porter, who portrays Paul, shared with Us Weekly at the MPTF NextGen Summer Party, which was presented by Delta Air Lines and Waymo, on Sunday, May 31, regarding the initial revelation at the conclusion of season 3.

As season 4 approached, Porter was still in the dark.

“We had no clue that was being filmed, so when Raymond Ablack and I discovered it, we were both like, ‘Wait, is it you or is it me?’ We had no idea. Even halfway through the [upcoming] season, we still didn’t know [who the father is],” he elaborated. “Sarah Lampert and our exceptionally talented writing team were deliberating on what was best for these characters and what makes for great television and which character takes precedence.”

While Porter couldn’t divulge too much about what lies ahead, he hinted that season 4 emphasizes growth.

“Many characters have significant questions to ponder and find themselves in situations requiring change. They’ll truly need to reflect and determine their next steps,” he revealed to Us. “I believe our audience has evolved with us, and this season will parallel that growth. It’s set to challenge viewers’ perspectives and thoughts about the show and its characters.”

Porter reassured Us that fans “shouldn’t” fret over future developments — but the characters “definitely” should.

“Fans who have been with us understand that we deliver jaw-dropping moments, cliffhangers, and daring turns — this season, we really double down on that, actually triple down,” he asserted. “It’s less about worrying and more about watching how characters evolve and accompany us on that journey.”

Porter added, “Do I know the cliffhanger from season four? Absolutely. It’s the biggest yet. It’s going to be wild — I promise you that.”

Ginny & Georgia is now streaming on Netflix.
