Vicki Gunvalson from RHOC Talks About Daughter Briana’s Marriage
Vicki Gunvalson is clarifying the situation regarding her daughter Briana Culberson’s personal life in Oklahoma with her husband Ryan Culberson.
“There’s a lot of misinformation online. Ryan is a wonderful husband, and Briana is a fantastic wife. They have a beautiful family, so everyone should just stop talking,” Vicki, 64, shared exclusively with Us during the launch event for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th on Tuesday, August 4, in New York City. “It’s really upset Briana. I hope this all blows over because she has an online business that she’s very proud of, and Ryan is an amazing guy.”
Briana’s situation came under scrutiny after her brother, Michael Wolfsmith, disclosed in the July 30 episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County that he hasn’t seen his sister in almost eight years.
“I was living in Hawaii and now Spain,” said Michael, 40, on Instagram, addressing their separation. “A couple of years back, I expressed my desire to visit when I was near Oklahoma, and she indicated it wasn’t a good time due to her husband, with whom I don’t have the best relationship 🤷♂️.”
He later clarified that he is in a group chat with Briana, 39, and Vicki, where they “have friendly chats.”
“I would really prefer if we could meet in person!” Michael remarked. “Just a couple of days ago we were sharing photos of pugs we adore.”
Vicki emphasized on Tuesday that just because Briana isn’t filming for RHOC, it doesn’t indicate her unhappiness with her reality.
“They have four kids. They’re happy. I’m happy. My daughter is happy. That’s all I could ask for my children,” she stated at The Lobster Club, dressed in a Bronx Banco gown. “There was a time when he returned from war and was upset with someone over something trivial. But that’s been blown out of proportion. That happened over 15 years ago.”
Vicki likely refers to a RHOC scene from 2013 when Ryan became irritated with Lydia McLaughlin‘s mother, Judy McLaughlin, for resting her feet on the couch at Vicki’s Winter Wonderland party. (Ryan later apologized for his actions.)
After two decades of RHOC, Vicki is aiming to focus less on the franchise’s dramatic moments and more on the delightful experiences that come with filming.
On RHUGT: Roaring 20th, Vicki had the chance to connect with various original Housewives from different franchises, including Kyle Richards.
“I never got to know Kyle personally, and we discussed [her estranged husband] Mauricio [Umansky].” Vicki teased. “We chatted about my relationship with [my ex-husband] Don, divorce, and kids. It was wonderful to get to know her better. It was fabulous.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs on Bravo Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET. Additionally, The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th premieres on Bravo Sunday, August 9, at 9 p.m. ET.
