Where Was Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials Shot? Exploring the Filming Locations
Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials has arrived on Netflix, adapting one of the renowned mystery writer’s cherished tales.
Spread over three episodes, Seven Dials centers on Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent (played by Mia McKenna-Bruce) as she uncovers the truth behind the death of her love interest Gerry Wade (Corey Mylchreest) after a party at her and her mother, Lady Caterham’s (Helena Bonham-Carter), estate. As Bundle gets closer to solving the mystery, the situation grows increasingly hazardous for her and those she cares about.
Seven Dials encompasses everything: an amateur detective, a clandestine society, a Clue-style whodunnit set in a magnificent manor, and even a thrilling chase on a moving train. The plot unfolds in 1920s London and Southern England, featuring stunning countryside views at every turn.

Chimneys: Badminton House in Gloucestershire
Bundle’s country residence, Chimneys, was filmed at Badminton House in Gloucestershire, England.
“We aimed for a romantic vibe for Chimneys, wanting it to be both decaying yet beautiful,” director Chris Sweeney told Glamour U.K. in January 2026. “I drew inspiration from places like Cecil Beaton’s Reddish House, which was crumbling and adorned with pelargoniums. We created a fusion of Cecil Beaton and Vita Sackville-West for Lady Caterham.”
Sweeney elaborated, “Badminton House hit the mark because it’s a private residence that’s beautifully crumbling yet lavish. The charm of the owners comes through in the property — finding such a place was a gem, as most striking houses aren’t private and available for rent.”
Fun fact: The estate also served as a filming location for Netflix’s Bridgerton and various other period dramas.
Wyvern Abbey: Westonbirt School in Gloucestershire
For Wyvern Abbey, the country home of George Lomax (Alex Macqueen), where Bundle retreats to uncover Gerry’s murderer, the setting was actually a private school named Westonbirt School in Gloucestershire.
“Finding Wyvern Abbey was quite a quest — our producer Jo Crow was determined to use Westonbirt School, which is a stunning structure. Although we filmed during summer holidays when regular students were absent, we had to navigate around a busy summer school,” said Dee Gregson, the show’s filming manager, to Glamour. “The school was eager to accommodate the filming, and they’re thrilled with how it turned out on screen!”
The Seven Dials Club: Barrel House in Bristol
Bundle visits a nightclub called The Seven Dials, filmed at Barrel House in Bristol, England.
“The Seven Dials Club was depicted as being accessed through an alleyway, located in an older building, with different floors serving as settings for various scenes,” Gregson recounted to Country & Townhouse. “An 18th-century building in Queen Square [in Bristol] was suitable for parts of the Seven Dials Club, while also providing excellent rooms for scenes set in the characters’ flats. It had previously served as English Heritage’s headquarters and was very well maintained.”
The club’s entrance was filmed on All Saints and Clare Streets in Bristol, while scenes featuring the Seven Dials’ secret room were shot at Bristol’s Bottleyard Studios. Staircases and other scenes at the Seven Dials were filmed at Queen Square.
The Train: Minehead and Blue Anchor Station
According to Gregson, the train sequences presented the greatest filming challenges. Minehead and Blue Anchor Station were chosen for these scenes.
“The railway involved extensive research throughout the country,” Gregson stated to Glamour. “We ultimately selected West Somerset Railway because it was important for the train to halt by the seaside, and Blue Anchor Bay provided the ideal, unspoiled location. Plus, it was within our region, minimizing the need for overnight stays.”
Gregson noted that the “greatest challenge” during filming the train sequences was “the heat.”
“With numerous cast and extras in period attire confined on a stationary train amid the heat, we resorted to using battery-powered air conditioners strung along the train,” she shared.
