Branden Cook from ‘Tell Me Lies’ Describes Bree and Wrigley’s Romance as an ‘Adjustment’

Fans of Tell Me Lies have quickly embraced Bree and Wrigley, though some cast members needed time to adjust to the surprising romance revelation.

In the episode aired on Tuesday, January 20, a flash-forward scene featuring Bree (Cat Missal) and Evan’s (Branden Cook) wedding unveiled Bree’s mysterious past with Wrigley (Spencer House).

“It was an adjustment — obviously — regarding where that leaves everything and how we navigate this triangle now,” Cook shared exclusively with Us Weekly. “How does that impact everyone’s relationships?”

Cook found the experience “fun” as he pieced everything together. He humorously added that this twist means fewer supporters for Bree and Evan.

“Nobody is ever on Evan’s side. But it was great and amusing,” he joked. “Any time you introduce such an element, it makes the job much more enjoyable. The more drama, the better.”

House expressed that he “loved” uncovering aspects of Wrigley’s backstory. “This has been the most enjoyable experience I’ve had in any season. It’s because Wrigley got a meaningful arc with upward movement,” he disclosed to Us. “The first two seasons saw spirals, which were good in their own right.”

He added, “But for me, showing up to work daily embodying that character, it was refreshing to have an upward trajectory. It felt significant and fulfilling.”

Missal commended Tell Me Lies for its creativity.

“Honestly, I believe [Bree and Wrigley’s] relationship provides a dynamic relief for the show. I feel audiences were yearning for that, and the writers were brilliant to execute it,” she told Us. “It’s truly a beautiful development.”
