Alex Cooper Is Expecting a Baby with Matt Kaplan
Alex Cooper and her husband, Matt Kaplan, are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child.
“Daddy Gang, I have something I’ve been excited to share with you all…” Cooper, 31, announced through her Instagram Story on Sunday, May 17.
Cooper also shared a collection of photos where she affectionately cradles her baby bump while looking at Kaplan, 42. She captioned the Instagram post, “Our family 🤍.”
The host of “Call Her Daddy” shared a selfie of herself sitting on Kaplan’s lap outdoors, with mountains in the background. His face was obscured by her phone.
“Honestly happy I can finally stop trying to hide the bump lol,” Cooper added in a different Instagram Story, along with an image of a candy bag.
This announcement comes amid speculation that the couple was facing issues in their marriage, particularly after the Unwell Network made headlines over allegations regarding Kaplan’s behavior. (Neither Cooper nor Kaplan has commented on the situation. Us Weekly reached out to representatives for Cooper, Kaplan, and the Unwell Network at that time.)
However, sources close to the couple informed Us that the rumors are unfounded. They emphasized that Cooper and Kaplan are thrilled about this new chapter and have tried to delay announcing the news for as long as possible.
Just days before the announcement, the couple attended the YouTube Brandcast event at Lincoln Center in New York City. During the event on Wednesday, May 13, YouTube announced the expansion of their partnership with Cooper and her Unwell Network, revealing four new shows.
Kaplan proposed to Cooper in 2023. Reflecting on her engagement, Cooper shared with W Magazine that her “entire house was covered in candles, lit all over, music playing, and a scavenger hunt leading to Matt proposing.”
“There was a computer, and the screen said ‘play me.’ I pressed play, and it was Matt wearing the same outfit he had on during our first Zoom meeting,” she reminisced. “He spoke about our relationship and his love for me, and then he asked me to open the card by the computer and follow the scavenger hunt around the house.”
Cooper and Kaplan exchanged vows in April 2024 in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The couple decided to keep their vows private from each other until the wedding day.
“For our families and closest friends to witness us express our feelings for one another in such an intimate setting felt incredible,” Cooper remarked to Vogue at the time. “As you can see in almost every photo, there were no dry eyes in the room. We will cherish that moment forever.”
