Hilary Duff Hosts Pizza Party with Daughters on Stage at MSG
Hilary Duff welcomed three very special guests to the stage during her second Lucky Me Tour stop at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
On Thursday, August 6, the 38-year-old Duff brought her daughters—Banks, 7, Mae, 5, and Townes, 2—for a classic NYC pizza celebration.
Their mother, who shares her children with husband Matthew Koma, had her girls present a pizza from Joe’s Pizza during the concert, where they joined her for a slice. As they excitedly arrived on stage, little Townes was seen jumping into her mother’s embrace.
The Lizzie McGuire star introduced her daughters to the enthusiastic audience at MSG, affectionately calling Mae “Mae-Mae” and Townes “Townsey Bear.” (She also has a son, Luca, 14, with ex-husband Mike Comrie.)
Just a day before the concert, Duff shared that she had been in the emergency room with Mae prior to her first show at the Garden on Wednesday, August 5.
“My kids are here tonight,” Duff mentioned during Wednesday’s performance, according to a clip shared by People. “I can’t believe I get to show them this. We were in the ER this morning getting some stitches for my 5-year-old.”
Duff assured fans that Mae was doing “fine” after the hospital visit and emphasized that “it’s all good.”
“But it’s very ‘our family-coded’ that I would be playing my first show at MSG and also be in the emergency room getting my kid stitched up,” she joked, adding, “Mae Mae, you’re very brave.”
The evening before her daughters joined her, Duff surprised fans on Wednesday by bringing out her ex Joel Madden’s band, Good Charlotte, to perform their hit “The Anthem.”
Duff and Madden, 47, were in a relationship from 2004 to 2006 and remain friendly. Duff is also close with Madden’s wife, Nicole Richie.
“I have a great relationship with their entire family. We actually hang out regularly,” she shared in a 2023 interview on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “I was just in [Nicole’s] driveway, honking for her to come drink wine with us the other day. … Now we often hike together. And you know what? It’s lovely.”
Madden, for his part, told People in 2007, “I have respect for every girl I’ve ever dated, and I always try to part on good terms. While you don’t have to be friends with everyone you’ve dated, I believe it’s important to be respectful of that time together.”
