The 31st edition of the Screen Actors Guild Awards is set to stream live on Netflix on Sunday, February 23, marking the platform’s second hosting of the event. Notably, this will be Kristen Bell‘s second time as host, having previously held the position in 2018.
“I’m so excited to be hosting the SAG Awards once again this year,” said Bell, 44, in a statement from December 2024 statement. “It’s an honor to be invited back and I look forward to sharing the night with my fellow actors as we celebrate our achievements.”
The 2024 SAG Awards celebrated films and television series such as Oppenheimer, Barbie, Killers of the Flower Moon, Succession, The Bear, and Beef. Notable recipients of major acting awards included Lily Gladstone, Cillian Murphy, Elizabeth Debicki, and Pedro Pascal, while Barbra Streisand received the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award.

The nominees for the 2025 SAG Awards will be announced on Wednesday, January 8. Among the TV nominees will be Shōgun, Bridgerton, and Nobody Wants This; while The Substance, Emilia Pérez, and Wicked will represent honored movie casts. Final voting for SAG-AFTRA members will commence on Wednesday, January 15, and conclude on Tuesday, January 21.
What Sets the SAG Awards Apart from Other Award Shows?

Who Is Elected to Host the 2025 SAG Awards?
Kristen Bell will reprise her role as the host for the SAG Awards, marking her second time following her debut as the first-ever host in 2018. After her, Megan Mullally took the reins in 2019, leading to a five-year period without a host. Just weeks after her hosting announcement, Bell received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy.
“Kristen Bell embodies humor, warmth, and charm, making her the perfect choice for our awards show — a night dedicated to actors and their exceptional performances,” said SAG Awards executive producer Jon Brockett in a December 2024 Netflix statement. “Who better to keep us entertained than Kristen?”
Who Will Be Honored with the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 Ceremony?
Actress and activist Jane Fonda is set to receive the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award during the 2025 awards ceremony.
“Presented annually to an actor who embodies the ‘finest ideals of the acting profession,’ the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award will be another prestigious addition to Fonda’s extensive list of accolades recognizing her outstanding performances and impactful activism,” SAG-AFTRA announced via its website in October 2024. “With a career spanning six decades, Jane Fonda has captivated audiences through her diverse performances in film, television, and theater, while using her prominence to advocate for essential social issues.”
