Blake Lively expressed that she has “a lot to share” amidst her legal conflicts with It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni. Lively, 37, spoke to the audience at the Time 100 Gala in New York City on Thursday, April 24, after being named one of Time’s 100 most influential people earlier that month. […]

She added: “What a lifelong gift that creative empowerment and trust has been. Most of my passions originate from, or are influenced by, her.”

Blake notably played Lily Bloom, a florist, in the 2024 movie It Ends With Us. This role led to a dispute with her co-star and director, Baldoni, as both filed lawsuits against one another.

Their legal battle began in December 2024, when Blake sued Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment, hostile work environment, and a supposed smear campaign against her.

Baldoni has denied these claims and subsequently filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist, Leslie Sloane, accusing them of civil extortion, defamation, invasion of privacy, and other charges. They have denied these assertions and are seeking to have the lawsuit dismissed.

At the Time 100 Gala in April, Blake seemed to touch on the controversy following her recognition as one of the magazine’s most influential figures.

“I have a lot to share about the past two years of my life, but tonight isn’t the time or place,” she mentioned, seemingly referencing the turmoil surrounding It Ends With Us.

During her address, the Gossip Girl alum highlighted her mother, Elaine, and discussed “the experience of being a woman with a voice today.”

Blake paid tribute to Elaine, who was present at the event, commending her for being a survivor “of the worst crime someone can commit against a woman.”

“I’ve seen her hide her raw and unjustified shame my entire life, so as her daughter, being asked to share this today is monumental. If we acknowledge it, we can change it,” she stated during the event.

Blake concluded with, “Never underestimate a woman’s strength to endure hardship.”
